Watch the Trailer here: The Cove: If you are an animal lover, you will find this movie inspiring and horrifying. This is the story of Richard O’Barry, who was the dolphin trainer for the movie, Flipper. He captured 4 female dolphins and trained them for the movie.
In that time, he really bonded with them and saw what sentient, self-aware creatures they were. He also saw how depressed they became in capitivity and one of them actually died in his arms from what he called, suicide by not taking another breath. From then on, he made it his divine work to free dolphins in captivity.
So he got calls from all over the world from people who discovered dolphins in need.
Watch the trailer let me know your thoughts about it: THE COVE

What can we do about it? If you are a Christian, you know that God can
override anything, and can do what we cannot do. God loves ALL of his
animals, and many scriptures in the Bible speak against cruelty to animals.
I recently found a scripture that pertains to this, and if you truly care,
please pray this, and share it with others:
Hosea 2:18-20
“And in that day, I will make a covenant with the beasts of the field, the
birds of the air, the fish in the sea, and those that crawl on the ground,
that I will BREAK THE SWORD AND THE BOW, and BREAK THE BATTLE IN THE EARTH,
and maketh them to lie down safely.”
In other words, He will make a pact with the all the animals that He will
break the instruments of their destruction, and break the battle against
them on the earth, and make them safe!
SPEAK this outloud, quoting, “It is written in Hosea 2:18-20: etc., and
that will activate God’s Word. It is very, very powerful!
Stand on the The Word, and believe in Faith, and we will see God work Mighty
Miracles in the Earth, that No Man could have done, for the innocent ones,
the animals, that are tortured by evil man, beyond belief. We HAVE to look
to the One who Can, God Almighty. Pray for them, please.
Thank-you, sister.

I signed the petition and sent it on to many friends. One of my close friends is an animal behaviorist, who spent yeaers working in Florida with dolphins and autistic children. She now trains service dogs and teaches animal behavior at a unversity in PA. I learned from her about her love for dolphins and their intelligence and sensitivity. Also the Paul Winter Consort, back in the 80′s and 90′s, composed beautiful music using the sounds of whales and dolphins in the background.

Hi Nancy,
As an animal lover and a holistic nutrition student, I am constantly asking myself about the choices I make when looking for sustenance. We are told as students to respect our bodies and to think of them as Ferrari’s, and to fuel them with the best things that mother nature offers. I have to ask myself if we continue to put diseased, inhumanely treated, and toxic products into our bodies, why we should NOT be full of cancers, tumours, and dis-ease. We are very lucky as students and practitioners that we are made aware of these things, and even though it is painful, this is the world we have created. The question is, how do we stop?

Just horrible……..These lovely and beautifull creatures should be free and enjoying the sea. I’ll help anyway possible to make that happen.

I’ve seen this movie some time ago and found it very disturbing. Dolphins are extremely intelligent and they have always been one of my favourite animals. My grand daughter is doing a school project about dolphins and a friend of mine who is a marine biologist will be speaking to her class. She suggests one of best things we can do is to discourage people from attending places like Marineland so that these beautiful animals are not taken from their natural habitat for our entertainment. In fact that goes for all the creatures placed in captivity such as zoos. How would you like to spend the rest of your life behind bars? People need to wake up and realize that we are all connected and what you do to others you ultimately do to yourself.

Have not seen movie, but know first hand on the ‘awareness’ of animals, and their ‘read’ of humans. I note that when people start quoting the Bible, it sends my ‘radar’ up, and here in the ‘west’ anyone with a copy of the Scriptures, and ability to read, can spout off any interpretation they wish, and ‘seem’ acceptable, and wise.
Since my indoctrination to Holy Writ was early on, in teen years, and started with the Old Testament, I was struck by how the Lord G_D, laid down laws on how to treat domestic and non-domestic animals. Quite revealing for a Book written over 3,500 years ago.
You will also note the instruction to let fields fallow, once in seventh year, and the Year of Jubilee. Even Protestant Americans, over 100 years ago believed in the veracity of the Word. More’s the pity , they don’t any more…! *

Nancy, I too watched the movie and the next day I recall a Los Angeles
restaurant was being sued by some patrons because in the sushi there was
dolphin meat unknown by the customer. Uggg. Awareness people. Please
educate us.
