I have thoroughly enjoyed your book. As his employee I am knowledgeable about Dr. Murphree’s protocols and believe in his work whole-heartedly. I have known for a long time that sugar was not good for you and it is inflammatory and slows healing and all that, however, I have been an addict of sugar basically my entire adult life.
I spent my early years being raised on a farm, so we had fresh food and minimal sweets. ( I know it sounds cliché, but a couple times a month we would go to the old country store and get an RC Cola and a Moon Pie.
This was a huge treat as a child who farmed. It is the kind of thing that is commonplace in most kids lives nowadays.) I was quite healthy back then. As a preteen we moved to a big city raised less fresh food and started our dredge into processed foods as I became an adult.
I can literally look at pictures of my life and see when I went downhill. I read through the first half of your book, the program as soon as I got it. I must say the first half literally disgusted me. Not only with our nation’s food distributors but mainly with myself as well. I guess I hadn’t realized what a “slave to sugar” I had become.
I have been off of sugar now for 6 days which is already proving to be an enormous step for me in many areas. I do not snack and wait for the next mealtime to come. I have actually gotten more done in the past couple days than I normally manage to do all week! My energy has doubled already, and I am not starving!
The only cleansing I have done so far are the lemon water and digestive enzymes, but I have eaten only fresh veggies and very little food in general (compared to before). I eat the seeds and nuts (always a part of my diet, since I don’t like candy much) and I eat salads and chicken and fish.
I haven’t been strict exactly, but I have not had any sugar of any kind, no dairy, and no bread. It is not as hard as I had feared. The first two days were the toughest but not difficult after reading your material. I actually didn’t want that goop in my body.
It is funny having meal discussions with my family now but they are tolerating my program, although they are not on board, YET!
Thanks so much for the information. I have needed to go in this direction for a long time (weight loss) and this has helped more than anything ever has.
