Here are a few things you can do if your skin is dry in the winter time.
For a period of time you can reduce the fats in your diet if you have been eating too much processed and cooked fats. Too much fat can overload the liver, causing the skin to become very dry.
Eliminating or reducing the fats for 1-2 weeks gives the liver some rest and allows it to cleanse.
Interestingly enough, if you do not have enough fats, the same thing can occur – the skin can become too dry. Make sure you eat raw fats 4-6 times per week.
This can be in the form of low-temperature pressed oils (2-3 tbsp. 1-2x daily) from olives, flax, hemp and pumpkin seeds, avocados, olives (10-12 olives 3-4x week), coconut, raw nuts and seeds (1-3 tbsp. 4-5x week).
Avocado Caraway Dressing:
- 1 avocado
- 3 tablespoons lemon juice
- 3 tablespoons ginger juice
- 2 tablespoons caraway
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
dash to 1/4 teaspoon Himalayan or Celtic Salt dash cayenne 1 cup kalamata olive water or blessed water with a dash of Celtic or Himalayan salt. Blend all ingredients together in high-powered blender. Serve 1-2.
