YOUR SIMPLE 3-DAY DETOX PLAN-Your Jump-Start Cleanse

Monday, April 30, 2018

Over the next few weeks, my focus will be on Body Detox! I have many resources available to you. This is to give your body a much-needed break from some of the heavier foods that you eat from day to day, including grains, meats and, of course, processed foods and sugar.

Print Friendly and PDF

You  can start slowly and get going strong by summer. Then you can maintain this lifestyle for life or as a go-to plan to get back on track. Important Note!

You will be eating the same three meals (for some, the same two meals) for all three days of the detox. While this may seem repetitive at first glance, please don’t balk and think it is not enough food to keep you feeling full.

The body can actually live on much less than you think. This is NOT a starvation Diet. We’re simply eating LESS and eating CLEANER to give the body a break from its usual grind.

This mini detox will help clean out your system and can jumpstart a great weight- loss plan. If you’re looking for a hormone-balancing and mood-enhancing plan, this is it.

In addition to your food plan, we’ll add in Essential Oils. Most in my tribe are familiar with the concept of using Pure Essential Oils on a daily basis: aromatically, topically, and internally.

If you want to transform your life, but are not using Essential Oils, you might be missing a key component in your wellness plan.

You see, including the use of essential oils in your wellness regimen offers you a more thorough, whole-system approach to good health. If you’re suffering from aches, anxiety, sleeplessness, or bloating…. There might be an oil for that!

This week, we will focus on: One smoothie Detox Green Cleansing Smoothie

Three Salads packed with immunity- and brighten-your- skin-boosting greens, as well as antioxidant-rich micro-greens:

  1. The Balance Bowl
  2. The Chop Bowl
  3. Seriously Delicious Detox Salad

Morning Starter - Detox Drink Weight Loss + Detox Drink with Essential Oils

You've probably heard it said more than once: drinking more water will help you lose more weight. But does water really help weight loss? The short answer is yes.

Drinking water helps to boost your metabolism, cleanse your body of waste, and acts as an appetite suppressant.

Drink enough water for peak energy and health. It’s important how we start our day. During the night while you are sleeping, you become dehydrated. You have not been drinking anything for hours, and your body needs to be rehydrated.

Also, your body has been working hard in repair mode, and the digestive system has hopefully had a rest. We have been in a mini-fast since our last evening meal. In the morning, we are breaking-the- fast.

It is good for the body to drink a cup of warm or hot water first thing in the morning.

This is the best way to break-the- fast from the night and cleanse. Be sure to drink warm or hot water, as this is gentler on an empty stomach.

Why and what happens when we drink water first thing in the morning?

The water cleanses, flushing out your digestive system, kidney, and bladder A bowel movement will usually follow soon after the second cup of water.

Mine is often right after the first cup Drinking more water helps your body stop retaining water, leading you to drop those extra pounds of water weight.

A great way to help keep yourself hydrated and encourage weight loss is to flavour your water with Essential Oils! These oils will give you a gentle liver detox and boost your immune system.

They will also aid in dissolving fat, stimulating your metabolism, cleansing the kidneys and lymphatic system, cleansing out bacteria in the gut, and promoting regular bowel movements.

As an added benefit, you’ll notice a reduction in bloating, gas, and occasional indigestion.

Here is a blend to mix in a gallon of water and drink all day long.

Recipes: Detox Salads for Daily Cleansing

The Balance Bowl: This salad is packed with immunity-boosting greens and antioxidant-rich daikon radish microgreens, or you can use any of your favorite microgreens.

Top this salad with sprouted sunflower and pumpkin seeds to increase beneficial enzymes, which allow your body to extract more vitamins and essential fats from your meal.

Here’s how I prepare this salad. You’ll need a small or medium salad bowl.

Ingredients:

Kale, purple cabbage, romaine, arugula, carrots, celery, sprouted sunflower seeds, sprouted pumpkin seeds, green onion, basil, and microgreens. Note: Remember to massage your kale for better digestion!

Let’s review why kale needs a massage. Massaging kale when making a raw kale dish can help to more evenly distribute the flavor and make the kale less bitter, less tough and, for some, easier to digest.

The thought of massaging kale may seem overwhelming, but the process is extremely easy! I used simple olive oil when massaging the kale for this recipe, but you can use a combination of oil and lemon.

Follow these easy steps for massaging and serving kale:

Step 1: Cut the kale off the stem. Using a knife, cut the kale into 1” to 2” squares or pieces, separating the kale from the stem.

Step 2: Wash the kale. Make sure to wash the kale well, because it has loads of cracks and crevasses that dirt can get stuck in; if it’s not organic, you’ll want to wash away those pesticides.

Step 3: Dry the kale. This is perhaps one of the most important steps when it comes to success with the kale massage. In order for the oil, dressing, or avocado to stick well to the kale leaves, the leaves must be dry. I like to use a clean dishtowel to do this, because I find that the dishtowel is better able to remove all of the moisture than a paper towel. You can also use a salad spinner followed by a
dishtowel, if you prefer.

Step 4: Put the kale in a bowl and add the oil (1 tablespoon). The amount you add will depend on how large the serving, but my general rule of thumb is one tablespoon.

Step 5: Roll up your sleeves and start massaging. You can massage for as long as you like, but the recommended amount is about 1 to 2 minutes or so (more time for larger batches). When massaging the kale, work it in between your fingers, sort of like you would when washing your hair.

For The Balance Bowl Salad, kale will be your base (yields about 2 cups, so use more if needed). Add the rest of the ingredients in a beautiful arrangement (see picture) and top with the following salad dressing.

Salad Dressing:

  • 2 cloves crushed garlic
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger (about 1 inch)
  • ½-cup lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • ¼-cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Place all ingredients in a blender and process until smooth and creamy. Store in a cruet or glass jar in the refrigerator.

  • The Chop Bowl: The chop bowl is the ultimate high-protein chopped salad. It is packed with a full spectrum of protein-rich greens, black beans, sprouted seeds, and hemp hearts.
  • This salad exceptionally rich in essential fatty acids, linoleic acid, and alpha-linolenic acid, which is beneficial in fighting inflammation and reducing nerve pain.
  • Here’s how I prepare this salad. You’ll need a small or medium salad bowl.
  • Ingredients:

  • Kale, Eden black beans, green peas, pepper tomatoes, sprouted sunflower seeds, sprouted pumpkin seeds, hemp seeds, broccoli microgreens, and fresh dill.

  • For The Chop Bowl Salad, kale will again be your base (see above note about kale massage). This recipe yields about 2 cups, so use more kale if needed. Add the rest of the ingredients (see picture) and top with the following salad dressing.

  • Salad Dressing:
  • Honey Mustard Dressing
  • ½-cup extra-virgin olive oil
¼-cup apple cider vinegar or fresh lemon juice
    1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
2 teaspoons raw honey or maple syrup
    ½ teaspoon Celtic sea salt
½ teaspoon crushed garlic (1 clove)
    Dash of black pepper

  • Place all ingredients in a blender and process until smooth and creamy. Store in a cruet or glass jar in the refrigerator.

Seriously Delicious Detox Salad: This easy Detox Salad is truly delicious! It’s made with all sorts of fresh and feel-good greens and is topped with a sweet and zesty Carrot-Ginger Dressing.

Ingredients:

3 cups finely-chopped* kale leaves
2 cups finely-chopped* broccoli florets
2 cups finely-chopped* red cabbage
1 cup matchstick (shredded) carrots
1 cup roughly-chopped fresh cilantro leaves
½-cup toasted slivered almonds
1/3-cup thinly-sliced green onions
1 avocado, peeled, pitted, and diced
1 batch Carrot-Ginger Dressing (see below)

* I recommend chopping the salad ingredients by adding each to a food processor and pulsing until chopped. You can also chop them by hand, if you’d prefer.

For the Seriously Delicious Detox Salad, add all ingredients together in a large bowl, and toss to combine. You can serve immediately.

Or, if you’re not going to serve the entire salad in one setting, it can be mixed without the dressing and refrigerated in a sealed container for up to two days; remember to refrigerate the salad dressing separately in another sealed container.

Carrot-Ginger Salad Dressing:

1 large carrot, peeled and roughly chopped
¼-cup rice wine vinegar
2 tablespoons avocado oil or olive oil (or any mild-flavored cooking oil)
1 tablespoon finely-chopped fresh ginger
1 tablespoon honey (or your desired sweetener)
1 tablespoon white (shiro) miso
½ teaspoon toasted sesame oil
Kosher salt and black pepper, to taste

Add all above ingredients to a blender or food processor, and pulse until completely smooth. Season to taste with salt and pepper, or add extra honey if you’d like a sweeter dressing. Serve immediately or refrigerate in a sealed container for up to one week. I give credit for this amazing salad to Gimme  Some Oven
