Here’s what you can do about it!

The first thing you need to do is to listen to your body, because your liver, throughout the regeneration process, sends out signals when all is not well.

Like the colon, the liver is begging for a cleanse. Don’t worry; it’s easy to do.

First, start your morning with a glass of freshly squeezed lemon juice in hot water. This helps to cleanse the liver and promote detoxification. It also stimulates bile production, cleanses the stomach and stimulates bowel motion.

Remember, unlike the stomach for example, the liver rarely tells you directly when it’s upset or if it needs your attention. It does tell you indirectly, though and you’ll notice, when it starts to function or perform poorly.

How will you know it’s functioning poorly~ For starters, your skin will look older then it should be, you’ll see more blemishes, more pimples, more marks, and more rashes than normal. Read More here!

I spoke with Dr. William Davis, the cardiologist who is encouraging people to go wheat free for heart disease prevention and reversal.

If you weren’t able to join us for the interview, you must listen to the replay for his plain talk about the largest dietary blunder ever made.

We’ve been hearing for years from the USDA to cut our fats and eat more healthy grains. No! It’s become clear that wheat consumption is responsible for an incredible amount of the human illness, obesity, and suffering we are witnessing on an unprecedented scale.

When Dr. Davis asked his pre-diabetic and diabetic patients to eliminate wheat and whole-grain products from their diets in order to lower blood sugar levels, the results were unexpected and astounding.

Lower blood sugar levels were accompanied by weight loss and a reversal of symptoms like: arthritis, migraines, acid reflux, irritable bowel syndrome, chronic constipation, inflammatory bowel disease, ulcers, colitis, asthma, and rashes.

Patients taken them off wheat saw their health issues reverse. How could this be? What’s happened to our wheat? Dr. Davis explained that geneticists and agribusiness of the ‘60s and ‘70s were very interested in generating high-yield strains of crops: soy, corn and wheat, especially.

And they were successful. They biochemically and genetically altered the wheat—including chromosomally—using extreme techniques to produce a semi-dwarf genetic variant now sold to us in the guise of “healthy whole grains.”

This genetically modified wheat made it to our store shelves in the mid-80s, and that’s when we saw an explosion of diabetes, weight gain, and other health problems.

It’s been labeled safe for human consumption but, significantly, there has been no record of human safety testing, animal safety testing, or biochemical testing. And although they’ve radically transformed it, they’re still calling it wheat.

The result is that our chronic consumption of this altered wheat has disrupted our intestinal health, damaging not only our intestinal tract, but our whole body system.

How do we know wheat is the culprit? Because when the majority—90% or better—of people remove it, they regain gastrointestinal health and all those problems go away.

So the first step is to remove wheat and allow the body to convert from a sugar-burning metabolism back to a fat-mobilizing metabolism.

Here are some high points from the interview:

How the wheat available today is different from the wheat our grandparents ate, as well as the wheat in the Bible.

Why does wheat increase our appetite and lead to weight gain? The answer will surprise you!

Is any form of wheat entirely safe? Dr. Davis shares a natural and healthy alternative to flour.

How to repair the gut and intestines after many years of wheat consumption.

Why going gluten free isn’t the answer.

This change in the genetics of wheat and its relationship to humans is a worldwide issue. The good news is that full correction of accumulated metabolic distortions is possible.

And it involves a simple change in diet that yields incredible and unexpected health benefits. It’s a first step to health all of us can take today!

If you missed the call, don’t worry! We’ve been archiving all of my interviews for the last 2-1/2 years in the Academy.

The infrared sauna is incredibly beneficial for detoxification, pain relief, and boosting your mood. Just to give you an example, we recently found a study that showed that when you go in a normal sauna, your sweat is 90% to 95% water. When you go in an infrared sauna, it penetrates about one-and-a-half inches into your subcutaneous fat.

We tend to store the majority of toxins in our body in our fat. Your sweat in that case is 80% to 85% water, and the other 15% to 20% is heavy metals and toxins. The More sessions you can do in an infrared sauna, the better it is. It’s even more beneficial for patients in whom we suspect an estrogen dominance. Right now I’d say estrogen dominance is an epidemic.

We tend to accumulate estrogen in so many different ways: from the plastics in our environment, our skincare, and taking different medications like the birth control bill or hormone replacement. Men and women both are accumulating so much of this estrogen, and we know it’s linked to prostate cancer and breast cancer. Again, the infrared sauna is such a nice way to eliminate extra toxins, especially the estrogen, which is stored in the fat cells.

The other thing about the infrared sauna is that it’s another mode of excretion beyond your liver and your digestive system.

I’ve been recommending sea vegetables as part of my healing programs – weight loss, cellulite control, detoxification, beautiful hair and skin, and more. Sea vegetables can transform your health.

They are twelve times more nutritious than the average vegetable.

They are rich in minerals and vital trace minerals that we can barely find even in the richest organic soil, especially iodine, iron, B6, B12, magnesium and many others.

Sea vegetables are generally sold in dehydrated form, and if they’re stored in an airtight container in a cool, dark place, such as a kitchen cupboard or pantry, they will keep indefinitely. Because they’re dry when purchased, sea vegetables require soaking in water prior to use. Two exceptions are nori sheets and kelp, both of which can be eaten right out of the package.

Sea vegetables help your body in numerous ways:

Weight Management - The thyroid gland is under attack these days. More people have thyroid issues than ever before. Sea vegetables are a tonic for thyroid function, and increasing thyroid function can be beneficial for weight loss.

Beautiful Skin – With their internal moisturizing properties, improved detoxification results, and high concentration of skin-friendly nutrients, sea vegetables are huge in the natural beauty industry.

Remove Radioactive Compounds – Brown seaweed binds and expels radioactive isotopes from the thyroid gland. Detoxification is essential in the post-industrial age.

Remove Heavy Metals - Our ancestors never had to deal with cadmium, mercury and lead the way we do now. Sea vegetables (Wakame, Arame, Hijiki, and Kombu) help the body efficiently detox these industrial waste products.

Five Simple Things You Can Do NOW….

Your body is great at telling you if you’re deficient in certain minerals or vitamins. Your body can send you on a mission to the kitchen as you crave foodstuff that will make up for the particular deficiency.

Unfortunately, this can often lead you to eating the wrong foods and/or too much of the wrong thing, especially if you are on a selective diet of some kind.

1) First, to eliminate sugar cravings: You must drink water, water, and more water. Common symptoms of dehydration are cravings and fatigue. So you must start hydrating your body.

Water is a natural appetite suppressant. Doctor F. Batmanghelidj, author of “Your Body’s Many Cries for Water,” says that most of the time your hunger, or craving, is really your body asking for water—not food.

If you are having a hard time drinking water, add fresh lemon and Stevia. “Sweet Leaf Peppermint” is the best!
Start hydrating first thing in the morning.

And if you do like a cup of coffee and simply can’t give it up altogether, drink it in mid-afternoon instead of in the morning as a wake-up call. The afternoon cup best fits your body’s natural cycle, avoiding the high-adrenal morning and late pre-sleep hours.

Also, check your urine. The normal color of urine should not be dark. It should be almost colorless to light yellow. If it begins to become dark yellow or even orange in color, you are becoming dehydrated.

That means the kidneys are working hard to get rid of toxins in the body, which results in very concentrated urine.

2) Another simple way to speed up the process of eliminating food cravings is this: One of the most therapeutic ingredients of all is fresh green plants and green super foods, and one of my favorite is chlorella.

Chlorella will help balance your blood sugar. It will also help with sugar cravings, which is what we want during this process!

Chlorella is amazing in that it binds with heavy metals (such as mercury, aluminum, and lead) and to environmental toxins (pesticides, insecticides, carcinogens, and radiation), so that they can be more effectively eliminated from the body.

3) Next would be: Mix up green grass powder, or any good quality green drink, five to six times during the day for six to seven days, and notice what happens. That’s your magic pill… without side effects! While you might visit the bathroom more often, that’s a good thing, believe me!

It may sound crazy, but you need to alkalize the body a.s.a.p.! This will alkalize and energize the cells of your body, as well as accelerate the cleansing process. It will taste strange to start with, but as your bloodstream pH level drops, your taste buds adjust to the flavor.

Be aggressive for just a few days (7), and let me know if it works for you.

There are two more things that will help to control your cravings…

4) Exercising will make you healthier and stronger, and the stronger and healthier you are, the easier it is to fight cravings. It can also help alleviate stress and boredom, which may cause you to eat sugar when you shouldn’t.

5) Get enough rest. Sugar affects your blood sugar levels, which affect your energy levels. If you aren’t on a regular sleeping routine, try to go to bed at the same time each night and waken the same time each morning.

This will make you less likely to reach for a candy bar the next time you’re feeling tired because you subconsciously need a boost. Stay in touch, and let me how these suggestions work for you!

If you’re fed up with feeling tired all the time, carrying
around excess weight, or fighting constant food cravings, then
the fall detox program is for you… Fat Burning Detox Program

Here’s an excerpt of the interview.

How do we get people to stop obsessing about calorie-counting? What’s wrong with calorie-counting?

Zoë Harcombe: Where do I start? It is an absolute obsession. Ninety-nine percent of diets are about eating less and/or doing more. They’re trying to create a calorie deficit in some way. It’s the ultimate definition of madness.

When we talk about madness, we say that it’s doing the same thing again and again and expecting to get a different result. We have known since 1917, when Benedict did the first study, that eating less and doing more does not produce sustained weight loss.

We know that it does achieve weight loss in the short term, but 98% of the people either don’t lose very much, or they regain what they lose. That number was actually quantified in the 1959 Stunkard and McLaren-Hume study.

Incredibly, this was repeated in the UK press just two weeks ago. Another study had been done where they studied thousands of people over a 20-year period.

They realized that 98% of the people don’t lose weight or regain what they’ve previously lost. Why would this have been a surprise? The only surprise to me is that every individual thinks that they will be the exception.

They think they will be the 2%. Most people who count calories today have lost weight on a calorie-controlled diet before. Most people lose weight on their first calorie diet.

I did. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have ended up anorexic. However, we gain it all back, and we usually gain more back on top. They seem to forget that. They’re just holding onto, “I just did this diet once and I lost loads of weight.

I reckon I can get back there again. This time I’ll keep it off.” No, this time you will not. Nobody bucks the trend. It really is a one in 100 chance that you have of losing a substantial amount of weight and keeping it off.

I think the only way you can do that is to sign up to starving yourself for the rest of your life. I always use Victoria Beckham—we know her as Posh Spice in the UK from the Spice Girls—as one of the exceptions.

She has to be one of the few women in the world who is living on 800 to maybe 1,000 calories a day, and has managed to maintain that kind of intake for a long period of time.

She is now in equilibrium at that intake. She’s not gaining and she’s not losing. She is where she is on that intake. I’m where I am on three times that intake. I’m not a size 0, but I’m probably a size 2. You make your choice.

Most people cannot sign up for prolonged starvation in the way that she has done, so we will regain the weight. It has been scientifically proven.

Most people are eating 1,150 calories a day from just two ingredients, one with no nutritional value and one with so little,it’s just incredible. It’s the same in America, North America, Canada, and the UK.

The statistics are the same. It’s approximately 400 calories a day from sugar and 730 to 750 calories a day from flour. Sugar, as you well know, has no nutritional value whatsoever. Flour has so little that it’s usually fortified. Flour ends up in cereal or breads.

Almost always, vitamins are added because everything is destroyed in the processing. That’s the other problem with calorie counting. I say to people, “Don’t count calories, but make your calories count.” If you’re eating 1,150 largely useless calories, the body can’t do anything with them.

I draw a little diagram for people who I try to work with and say, “Let’s take an average woman with an average basal metabolic rate of 1,500 calories a day.”

Let’s say she then needs about 500 calories beyond that, which is pretty typical for an average female. The 1,500 basal metabolic calories has to come in a form that the body can use. The body just wants the macronutrients, fat, and protein.

It doesn’t care about carbohydrates. It wants the micronutrients, vitamins, and minerals. When you eat 1,150 calories of carbohydrates, there’s very little nutrition.

The body says, “I can’t use any of that. It’s no use to me for fighting infections, for cell repair, or for building bone density. It’s just no use to me whatsoever. I need you to go out now and eat 1,500 proper calories.

That’s what I need to do all of the things I have to do on my to-do list.” I tell people, “If you eat 1,150 useless calories, you’d better go to the gym because that’s the only way you’ll use them up.”

I don’t go to the gym because I don’t eat useless calories. I eat only real food.

I do what my body requires of me on a daily basis. I don’t do unnecessary activity. I just live a normal, human life.

Lately I have been investing so many hours in my business that it might have been easy to neglect my diet. Thank God I can juice to get some of my nutrients VERY easily!

Juices are also a real stress reliever, so no matter what’s happening, I make the time to juice. This might seem STRANGE to some of you, but if you try it just once, chances are you’ll keep on juicing.

I can’t stress enough how keeping your menu to liquids – green juices! – in the morning is an excellent way to aid your body’s natural repair cycles.

Since our bodies are usually far too acidic, this is a good way to help flush out all the bad things and replace them with the good ones we need. So, if you thought this.

Most people hop out of bed in the morning and grab a coffee – often sweetened and thickened with cream – then look around the kitchen for more sweetness, figuring that’s the energy boost they need to start the day.

Unfortunately, for most of us, that craving for “sweet” doesn’t leave much room for vegetables.

Why aren’t we thinking vegetables instead? Perhaps it’s the stress of consuming five or more servings a day – what everyone from our doctors to the government’s food guidelines recommend! Or maybe it’s the thought of the after-effects of eating so many vegetables.

But there is a way of getting all the benefits from vegetables without feeling we have to pack a picnic basket full, or being afraid some of the harder-to-digest vegetables will have our guts in an uproar.

Juicing vegetables will help you meet your five-a-day – or more – serving requirement in a highly efficient manner. At the same time, juicing will allow your body to absorb all the nutrients you need from your vegetables.

Think of juicing as the process of “pre-digesting” your food for you.

And that’s a good thing, since most of us have a dysfunctional digestive system from years of bad diet. As a result, our system “passes” most of the nutrients as waste.

Which is really a waste of good nutrients! With juicing, the process optimizes your body’s ability to absorb nutrients. Which means you have more energy right from the get-go, and it’s easy on your digestive system.

For you carb cravers, meeting the five-a-day or more rule is very important. In fact, it’s recommended that you consume about one pound of raw vegetables per 50 pounds of body weight each and every day.

Now that’s one big stack of vegetables! Since munching on vegetables all day can get pretty boring, you’ll appreciate juicing.

One of the benefits is that you can choose from a wider variety of vegetables, because you won’t have to worry about whether you can digest them.

You can even juice vegetables you wouldn’t normally find pleasing to your palate, because mixed with several other varieties, you’re able to create your own flavours.

Juicing is all about raw foods, but it does not have to mean “no cooked foods.” Juicing simply encourages including as much raw food as possible, because these foods have so many more nutrients and enzymes than their cooked counterparts.

For example, vegetables have been found to contain 77% more B6, 86% more vitamin E and up to 40% more zinc than cooked vegetables. The fresh juice of plants is very much like the juice of our own cells.

The essential elements that may be lacking in your body’s cells – particularly the live enzymes, bioactive vitamins, minerals, trace minerals and other unknown factors – can be easily absorbed through daily fresh green juices.

The next time you clean your house, remember to cleanse your “inner house,” too, through a natural method of detoxification. You’ll improve the flow of your life immensely!

If You’ve Recently Started Feeling More Sluggish Than Usual, Getting Sick More Often And You’ve Put On Extra Pounds All Of A Sudden…And You’re Wondering If It’s Because Of Menopause, A Change In Your Metabolism, Lifestyle… Or You’ve Just Turned A “Certain Age”…

Can Saturated fat be good for you? Yes! Natural coconut oil- as opposed to the hydrogenated version often found in processed foods-is a saturated fat, but not the kind your doctor has warned you about. Studies have shown that this uniquely curative oil actually has innumerable health benefits, ranging from disease prevention to anti-aging.

Bruce Fife, a certified nutritionist and naturopathic doctor, is the president of the Coconut Research Center and Nonprofit Organization, which is dedicated to educating the public and the scientific community on nutritional and health benefits of coconut oil. And there is a vital need for this education today.

Coconut oil has had a bad reputation for a number of years. Since the 1980s, saturated fats have been scrutinized because they tend to raise cholesterol levels and contribute to heart disease.

While coconut oil does have a high amount of saturated fat, it’s actually good fat, which the body responds to and processes very differently than the fats in meat and dairy.

This makes it a superior and safer alternative to the hydrogenated vegetable oils that make our diets and foods so unhealthy and which are linked to premature aging, among other common disease conditions.

Coconut oil has an astounding number of health benefits:

Kills disease-causing bacteria, viruses, and fungi

Is a natural antibiotic

Helps prevent disease

Treats infection, influenza, measles, herpes, mononucleosis, Hepatitis-C, and even HIV

Balances blood sugar and reverses insulin resistance

Has potent anti-cancer properties

Boosts metabolism and energy levels

Prevents brain aging, and even reverses symptoms of Alzheimer’s

In this interview we also talked about:

How much coconut oil we need on a daily basis

The different products that come from the coconut tree

Coconut oil as the original sunscreen lotion

Because of its impact on metabolism, thyroid function and energy, coconut oil as a means for weight-loss, weight management, and treating obesity

Dr. Fife’s passion is to change people’s views of coconut oil through education. And things are beginning to change. People are becoming more aware and are turning back to natural foods, like coconut, with lots of benefits. Used internally or externally, and in cooking or treating illness, coconut oil is a miracle. Listen to the replay to hear more from Bruce Fife in this fascinating interview.

Stay home (or go away) and do a juice fast: Juice fasting is a great way to tune up the body from the inside out. While it cleanses your internal organs and systems, it also
[Continue reading this article]

Stay home (or go away) and do a juice fast: Juice fasting is a great way to tune up the body from the inside out. While it cleanses your internal organs and systems, it also promotes weight loss, makes your skin glow, and leaves you feeling energized.

Once you introduce juice fasting into your life routine, you’ll start to notice positive changes on all levels of your being. You may feel more physically energized, more mentally alert, or your moods may be lighter and brighter.

2. Sweat. In a sauna (not a steam room — too much chlorine is in the steam), or a hot yoga class, or in a hot bath followed a snuggling under warm covers, let yourself sweat. It helps the skin, your largest organ of detoxification, do its job.

4. Rebound, i.e., bounce on a mini-trampoline. All exercise is good, of course, but a mini-tram is supposed to particularly target the lymphatic system and help it do its clean-up tasks. The lymphatic system has no pump like the heart, so it can use some help. I do my 5-minute warm-up at the gym on a mini-tram.

5. Scrape your tongue first thing in the morning. Your body does a lot of detoxing during sleep, and that coating on your tongue when you wake up (in Ayurveda, they call it ama, metabolic debris) needs to come off before your first drink of water. They sell inexpensive tongue scrapers in the dental care aisle at health food stores and many drugstores.

6. Use a neti pot. The yogis have long recommended “sinus bathing” as a part of enlightened hygiene, and you can purchase a neti pot (beautiful ceramic ones and low-cost plastic models) at most health food stores. You fill it with warm water made into a saline solution by the addition of some finely ground salt and, following instructions, let the water flow into one nostril and out the other; then do the other side. This is not always a pleasant experience, but it definitely clears your head, is a godsend during allergy season, and I swear by it after plane flights.

7. Dry body brush. Before your bath or shower, use a special dry body brush (ask at the health food store: this is a brush with a removable handle, meant to be used on dry body skin) to buff your skin, starting with the feet. Then work up, using upward strokes on the calves and thighs, fingers-to-shoulders moves on your arms, and gentler round motions on your abdomen, hips, and chest; this is not for the face. It helps the skin to detox, removes dead skin cells, is warming and energizing, and in Europe even standard MDs claim that it helps diminish cellulite.

8. Enemas and colonics. I include these because they’re standard-issue detox practices and many, many people swear by them. They say that we have toxic build-up in the colon that’s been there for years and needs to be washed out.

9. Get away to somewhere clean and quiet. By “clean,” I mean where the air is pure (mountains, ocean) and where electro-magnetic-field radiation is at a minimum. Some people are irritated that they can’t get much cell phone reception, but it’s really a blessing. If you can get away for even one weekend a season, it’ll help.

10. Eat raw food and think loving thoughts.
