Listen to the replay here “Stop Your Sugar and Food Cravings”

For 18 years I’ve been focused on nutrition, and my business has always revolved around education with big goals and little steps.

I’m increasingly disturbed by research that shows the average North American consumes approximately 150 pounds of food additives per year, including sugar, sweeteners, salt, vitamins, flavorings and colorings, flavor enhancers, shelf-life extending chemicals, and preservatives.

These substances not only create havoc in our bodies, they lower IQ as well.

To combat this, I designed an action plan for myself and my family using simple principles and commonsense strategies.

Within one week of following this plan and these principles, I felt calmer and slept much better; my cravings diminished; I had fewer PMS symptoms; there was less bloating; and I had no more acne.

My skin was glowing, my digestion improved, and I lost weight. That’s how “Stop Sugar and Food Cravings” was born.

Then I started using this program with clients with tremendous results. I now offer it to you!

My program offers simple, doable, and effective things you can do starting tomorrow to eliminate the junk food and sugar cravings that are running your life and ruining your health.

And I share seven concrete steps you can take to jumpstart your new healthy lifestyle.

In this teleclass we also discussed:

A simple step to transform any bad habit into a healthy, supportive one

The vital role of real food in our diets

Improving your mood, energy, and emotions

Gaining control and creating more self-discipline

The emotional component to losing weight, and why willpower alone isn’t enough

Listen to the replay and Join My 2-Hour Course On How To…Stop Your Sugar And Food Cravings Once and For All…

A simple, commonsense, and completely holistic approach to health.

The choices we make in life create who we are. We are the sum total of all of the decisions we make daily, no matter how small they are.

For this reason, I encourage everyone to pay attention to your daily habits, every single day.

“Stop Your Sugar and Food Cravings” is a transformative program that begins with a positive lifestyle change and the development of habits that will allow us to maintain healthy eating patterns eating real food for life.

It’s really that simple!

How do we get inflammation? Where does it come from? Sources include sugar, white flour, and processed oils, which make up a significant portion of the average North American diet and cause biochemical chaos in the body. In fact, the wheat-consuming nations of the world have the most inflammatory disease.

If we’re overweight, fat cells produce inflammatory chemicals, adding to the overload, and the result is massive amounts of inflammation occurring in our bodies. These pro-inflammatory chemicals, when released, damage our tissues, glands, and everything else.

Raymond Francis is an internationally recognized leader in the field of optimal-health maintenance who has proposed a remarkable concept of health along with a simple program for achieving it that begins by teaching the basics of good health.

He believes health is an individual responsibility, our duty to ourselves. But we’re simply not living up to it. Why? First of all, because nobody ever told us it is a duty; and secondly, nobody ever told us how to do it. But health is a choice, and Raymond’s passion is to help people choose it.

One of the questions I asked him was:

What were the results of his latest research since our last interview? Here’s what he said:

Inflammation is the foundation stone of virtually every chronic disease.

It certainly is a foundation stone of cancer. Inflammation drives cancer. Without inflammation cancer would not exist. Here’s what I’ve been finding. You say inflammation is important. Then you ask the question, “How do you get inflammation? Where does inflammation come from?”

You start looking at the sugar, white flour, and processed oils that we eat. These are all sources of inflammation.

Then we’re overweight, and that’s a source of inflammation. Fat cells produce inflammatory chemicals. Still, we have massive amounts of inflammation going on. You keep asking yourself, “Where is this coming from?” I’m starting to find out where it’s coming from.

I’ll share this with your audience. I haven’t completed all my research on this yet, but I’ll share the conclusions I’ve reached so far.

Our consumption of wheat is a major source of inflammation. I have simply stopped eating wheat. I eat no wheat whatsoever. In fact, I eat very few grains now. I strongly recommend that people stop eating wheat, and here’s why.

What we’ve done over the years is we have hybridized wheat to continually get higher and higher amounts of protein in the wheat.

We now have wheat with very high amounts of protein, much higher than 2,000 years ago. There’s a component of this protein, which is actually one of the proteins; it’s a glycoprotein, which is a protein and a sugar molecule together.

This is a class of compounds called lectins. Lectins are in the wheat to protect the wheat from attack by bacteria, viruses, and fungi.

It does a marvelous job of protecting the wheat from infection. It does this by damaging the cell walls of the bacteria and the fungi and destroying them. Here’s something that is in there to protect the wheat from attack.

Unfortunately, human beings have the same receptor sites on the cells as the fungi and bacteria have. That means that because we have the same receptor sites, the lectins are also going to damage our cells.

Historically, when we were eating wheat 2,000 years ago, it had lectins in it but we had adapted to the amount of lectins.

Now what we’ve done, especially over the last couple hundred years, is we’ve hybridized the wheat to where it has very large amounts of lectins in it now. We have high-protein wheat with large amounts of lectins.

We’re now getting exposed to a tremendous amount of lectins.

Guess what? Lectins, even in very small quantities, are capable of producing pro-inflammatory chemicals in the body. I really think that this is where a lot of our inflammation is coming from. Even at exceedingly low concentrations, lectins will stimulate this production of pro-inflammatory chemicals.

Once you do this, the pro-inflammatory chemicals go out and damage all your tissues, glands, and everything else.

The problem is that we’re producing a lot of inflammation here. Geographically, when you look at the wheat-consuming nations, the countries that consume the most wheat have the most problems with inflammatory diseases.

I’m looking at this thing and asking, “Where’s the inflammation coming from?” I’m looking at the fact that the lectins produce information, and I’m then looking at the fact that wheat-consuming nations have the most inflammatory disease.

It’s starting to form a picture for me. You asked the question of what I’m doing and what my new research is. This is one of the things I’ve come up with recently.

I’m beginning to believe that this is really very profound stuff here. I have gotten off of all wheat totally and completely, and I’m now advising everybody not to eat any wheat.

It may in fact be a very bad choice. Again, it doesn’t take much. What we’re finding in the research is that exceedingly small concentrations of lectins can stimulate the production of inflammatory chemicals in the body.

That muffin for breakfast may be enough to stimulate a lot of inflammation. Then there’s another problem here. Lectins are highly stable molecules, so they’re very resistant to the degradation through a wide variety of pH ranges and a wide variety of temperatures.

They survive cooking, sprouting, fermenting, and digesting. They’re very stable molecules, and they’re also highly resistant to breaking down in the body. They actually bio-accumulate in the body and become incorporated into the tissues where they begin to interfere with your normal biological processes.

I tell you, the more I look at the lectins the scarier they become.

Here’s what you can do about it!

The first thing you need to do is to listen to your body, because your liver, throughout the regeneration process, sends out signals when all is not well.

Like the colon, the liver is begging for a cleanse. Don’t worry; it’s easy to do.

First, start your morning with a glass of freshly squeezed lemon juice in hot water. This helps to cleanse the liver and promote detoxification. It also stimulates bile production, cleanses the stomach and stimulates bowel motion.

Remember, unlike the stomach for example, the liver rarely tells you directly when it’s upset or if it needs your attention. It does tell you indirectly, though and you’ll notice, when it starts to function or perform poorly.

How will you know it’s functioning poorly~ For starters, your skin will look older then it should be, you’ll see more blemishes, more pimples, more marks, and more rashes than normal. Read More here!

Sea vegetables can transform your health.

They are twelve times more nutritious than the average vegetable.

They are rich in minerals and vital trace minerals that we can barely find even in the richest organic soil, especially iodine, iron, B6, B12, magnesium and many others.

Sea vegetables are generally sold in dehydrated form, and if they’re stored in an airtight container in a cool, dark place, such as a kitchen cupboard or pantry, they will keep indefinitely. Because they’re dry when purchased, sea vegetables require soaking in water prior to use. Two exceptions are nori sheets and kelp, both of which can be eaten right out of the package.

Sea vegetables help your body in numerous ways:

Weight Management - The thyroid gland is under attack these days. More people have thyroid issues than ever before. Sea vegetables are a tonic for thyroid function, and increasing thyroid function can be beneficial for weight loss.

Beautiful Skin – With their internal moisturizing properties, improved detoxification results, and high concentration of skin-friendly nutrients, sea vegetables are huge in the natural beauty industry.

Remove Radioactive Compounds – Brown seaweed binds and expels radioactive isotopes from the thyroid gland. Detoxification is essential in the post-industrial age.

Remove Heavy Metals - Our ancestors never had to deal with cadmium, mercury and lead the way we do now. Sea vegetables (Wakame, Arame, Hijiki, and Kombu) help the body efficiently detox these industrial waste products.

Five Simple Things You Can Do NOW….

Your body is great at telling you if you’re deficient in certain minerals or vitamins. Your body can send you on a mission to the kitchen as you crave foodstuff that will make up for the particular deficiency.

Unfortunately, this can often lead you to eating the wrong foods and/or too much of the wrong thing, especially if you are on a selective diet of some kind.

1) First, to eliminate sugar cravings: You must drink water, water, and more water. Common symptoms of dehydration are cravings and fatigue. So you must start hydrating your body.

Water is a natural appetite suppressant. Doctor F. Batmanghelidj, author of “Your Body’s Many Cries for Water,” says that most of the time your hunger, or craving, is really your body asking for water—not food.

If you are having a hard time drinking water, add fresh lemon and Stevia. “Sweet Leaf Peppermint” is the best!
Start hydrating first thing in the morning.

And if you do like a cup of coffee and simply can’t give it up altogether, drink it in mid-afternoon instead of in the morning as a wake-up call. The afternoon cup best fits your body’s natural cycle, avoiding the high-adrenal morning and late pre-sleep hours.

Also, check your urine. The normal color of urine should not be dark. It should be almost colorless to light yellow. If it begins to become dark yellow or even orange in color, you are becoming dehydrated.

That means the kidneys are working hard to get rid of toxins in the body, which results in very concentrated urine.

2) Another simple way to speed up the process of eliminating food cravings is this: One of the most therapeutic ingredients of all is fresh green plants and green super foods, and one of my favorite is chlorella.

Chlorella will help balance your blood sugar. It will also help with sugar cravings, which is what we want during this process!

Chlorella is amazing in that it binds with heavy metals (such as mercury, aluminum, and lead) and to environmental toxins (pesticides, insecticides, carcinogens, and radiation), so that they can be more effectively eliminated from the body.

3) Next would be: Mix up green grass powder, or any good quality green drink, five to six times during the day for six to seven days, and notice what happens. That’s your magic pill… without side effects! While you might visit the bathroom more often, that’s a good thing, believe me!

It may sound crazy, but you need to alkalize the body a.s.a.p.! This will alkalize and energize the cells of your body, as well as accelerate the cleansing process. It will taste strange to start with, but as your bloodstream pH level drops, your taste buds adjust to the flavor.

Be aggressive for just a few days (7), and let me know if it works for you.

There are two more things that will help to control your cravings…

4) Exercising will make you healthier and stronger, and the stronger and healthier you are, the easier it is to fight cravings. It can also help alleviate stress and boredom, which may cause you to eat sugar when you shouldn’t.

5) Get enough rest. Sugar affects your blood sugar levels, which affect your energy levels. If you aren’t on a regular sleeping routine, try to go to bed at the same time each night and waken the same time each morning.

This will make you less likely to reach for a candy bar the next time you’re feeling tired because you subconsciously need a boost. Stay in touch, and let me how these suggestions work for you!

If you’re fed up with feeling tired all the time, carrying
around excess weight, or fighting constant food cravings, then
the fall detox program is for you… Fat Burning Detox Program

In order for our bodies to process sugar, it has to rob our reserves of vitamins and minerals. This means sugar is not just an empty calorie substance . . . it’s a sub-zero calorie substance. And this can have devastating effects on your body.

For instance, when our bodies look for nutrients to steal, it targets key minerals such as calcium from the bones and teeth. And since calcium is the primary mineral used to neutralize high acid in the cells, we could be left with “toxic” minerals, because there’s not enough calcium to fight them off.

And it gets worse: This can also lead to calcium becoming toxic resulting in plaque on the teeth, osteoporosis and arthritis, kidney stones, and even hardening of the arteries.

As if that’s not bad enough, the raiding of vital nutrients in order to process sugar can lead to our bodies becoming acidic.

In other words… sugar can alter our entire blood chemistry; so just two teaspoons of sugar can throw off your chemical balance.

The chain reaction continues . . . when minerals decrease because your body is out of balance, critical enzymes are unable to do their job, which means food is not digested properly.

If any of this food gets into the bloodstream, it can cause your immune system to go into action, fighting off this “foreign” substance. That means your immune system is busy fighting elsewhere when it’s needed to focus on getting those diseases out of our body.

All of this from just two teaspoons of sugar. Just imagine the chaos when you give in to a craving for cookies or ice cream or doughnuts.

If you consider that you may be swallowing the recipe for everything from osteoporosis, diabetes to kidney stones, yeast infections, headaches, arthritis or allergies.

Tired of the aches and pains in your joints…. fed up with feeling tired all the time, carrying
around excess weight, or fighting constant food craving: Then
the fall detox program is for you…Join today

It does tell you indirectly, though and you’ll notice, when it starts to function or perform poorly.

How will you know it’s functioning poorly~ For starters, your skin will look older then it should be, you’ll see more blemishes, more pimples, more marks, and more rashes than normal.

You can help the liver’s regenerative process by adding these foods and nutrients to your diet: Rather than indulging in heavy dishes, fried pastries and bottles of wine add some of these nutritious foods to your diet and
give yourself and your liver a true gift.

1 small bunch Dandelion Greens
1 small head chicory
1 small head radicchio

Dressing:
1/2 medium lemon,juiced
2 Tbs. fresh thyme leaves
Cayenne pepper, to taste
1/4 cup olive oil
Dandelion flower or other edible flowers, optional

Wash dandelion greens, chicory, and radicchio. Remove and discard tough stems, and tear into 2-inch pieces. Combine in medium bowl, and set aside.

Combine lemon juice, thyme, and cayenne in small bowl, and whisk together to mix. Whisk in olive oil to form emulsion. Season with celtic salt and pepper to taste, if desired.

Drizzle just enough dressing over greens to lightly coat leaves; toss to mix well. Scatter dandelion or edible flowers on top of salad, and serve.

Let me tell you, she was on a mission during the interview.

The average North American consumes approximately 150 pounds of food additives per year.

One question I asked her was: What would be the top food that lowers IQ

The bulk of our food additive consumption is comprised of sugar and sweeteners, salt, vitamins, flavoring, coloring, flavor-enhancers, shelf-life extending chemicals, and preservatives.

1. Artificial Sweeteners

2. MSG

Artificial sweeteners and MSG, which are found in all processed foods, will lower your IQ! Did you know that? It excites brain cells to death. That’s why they call it a neurotoxin / excito-toxin.

Dr. Russell Blaylock explains this very well, and Gloria referenced him in yesterday’s interview.

It’s not like shooting the brain cells and they die.

It’s literally putting the brain cells into a blender and exciting them to death, until they come apart. This is what MSG and artificial sweeteners do to your brain!

This is the major cause of the sharp rise in attention deficit disorder (ADD/ADHD), depression, eating disorders, headaches, and angry, aggressive behavior in kids and adults today.

This is all good information. Now you need an action plan!

If you missed the call, don’t worry – we’ve been archiving all my interviews the last 2 years in the Academy.

Here’s what talked about:

Nancy: We are addicted to food. We know that. We have excess calories. We get overweight. We get diabetes. In your article, Toxic Hunger, you said that most people never experience the healthy sensation of feeling hungry.

Dr. Joel Fuhrman: That’s right. Let me explain that a little bit. I think this is really a fascinating subject to discuss. I’ll try to give you and our listeners a little background on this. The body cycles between anabolic and catabolic cycles

I want you to learn what this means. I want you to learn the word ‘anabolic’ and the word ‘catabolic’. Anabolic means to build, and catabolic means to breakdown.

When we eat a meal and digest food we’re in an anabolic phase. It means we’re taking glucose, the macro-nutrients, and storing them in the body. It’s the ones we’re not utilizing for energy. The glucose is stored as glycogen.

The fat is stored as fatty acids. In the anabolic phase we’re building onto the body’s stores. In that phase we’re not going to heal much and detoxify and repair.

It’s a building phase where the repair and detoxification processes are somewhat inhibited.

Then we finish digesting and absorbing, and we go into a catabolic phase where we’re living off of the food that was stored.

Like the wick of a candle burns down wax, we’re going to slowly burn down the glycogen reserve that was stored when we were in the anabolic phase.

During this catabolic phase, as the body is breaking down storage sites, is when the body can devote itself to repair, detoxification, healing and life extension. The more you live your life in a catabolic phase, the longer you’re going to live.

The more you live your life in an anabolic phase, the shorter your lifespan. The problem is that the American diet is so toxic. People are eating so much low-nutrient food and so many excess calories and protein.

They build up uric acid, nitrogenous waste, free radicals, and all kinds of glycogen end products in their tissues.

They get so much inflammation and oxidative stress. They’re not healthy. They enter the catabolic phase, the repair and detoxification phase. They start to immediately feel shaky and headachy.

They immediately feel stomach cramps and weakness, fatigue and irritability. They have to eat again.

They have to take the M&M’s, bagel or pasta. They have to eat too frequently and eat when they’re not hungry, meaning they’re forced to eat just to feel okay. Thousands of people who have lost 100, 200 or 300 pounds have been set free. They say it’s like being let out of prison. When we have them eat sufficient volumes and sufficient amounts of high nutrient foods, they get rid of their toxic hunger because they get rid of the toxicity.

It’s like being a cocaine or heroin addict. They get rid of the toxins in their tissues, and they no longer feel ill when they enter the catabolic phase. This means they don’t have to eat.

They feel normal. They can eat a meal and as it’s digesting, they can go on with their lives. Eventually, as the catabolic phase progresses and you slowly burn off the glycogen so that it’s almost used up, your body is not going to then utilize muscle tissue for glucose.

It won’t go into gluconeogenesis. Do you know why? Because the body will give you a signal to eat before any muscle breakdown occurs. That’s called true hunger. I came up with these names, ‘toxic hunger’ and ‘true hunger’. They’re descriptive of this process. In the last 20 years I’ve observed this literally in thousands of people who have changed their diets to healthier diets.

We call it the ‘changing perception of hunger’. We’re publishing a study in the Nutrition Journal on the changing perception of hunger showing that what people thought was hunger wasn’t even hunger. As to what everybody in the world, every medical textbook, every doctor, and all the people learning in medical school think hunger feels like, I’m saying, “No way. That’s not hunger. That’s toxic hunger.”

Real hunger is felt in your throat and mouth and tongue. It makes food taste great, and it feels great when you want to eat. It makes food taste fantastic when you wait that long. People actually prefer to wait longer to eat because the food tastes that much better and they get so much pleasure when they eat when they’re truly hungry. True hunger is actually a precise signally device that directs you to the exact amount of calories that you require to maintain your perfect weight.

You’ll never have to diet in your life because once you’ve been doing this for a few months you prefer not to eat unless you’re hungry. Hunger directs you to the perfect amount of calories. You won’t want to overeat at lunch because you want to be hungry for dinner. You’ll enjoy it more. You won’t want to overeat at dinner because you want to be hungry for breakfast because you’ll enjoy it more.

If you do overeat, you’re not going to feel like eating the next meal, and you’ll wait longer or skip a meal. There are no fat, overweight people in primitive populations. There are no fat, overweight people who eat real, whole, natural foods with lots of micro-nutrients. You can only become overweight if you are eating low-nutrient foods with concentrated calories, like oils, fats, sugars, meats and cheeses.

The minute you start eating natural foods, it’s almost impossible to become overweight. When you meet your micro-nutrient needs, you lose the toxic hunger and food cravings and you naturally prefer to eat the amount of calories your body requires. That is much less than people are eating today.
