Foods to Eat to Help Your Liver

You can help the liver’s regenerative process by adding these foods and nutrients to your diet:

Rather than indulging in heavy dishes, fried pastries and bottles of wine add some of these nutritious foods to your diet and
give yourself and your liver a true gift.

  • Fresh vegetable juices
  • Chlorophyll-rich foods: Wheat or barley grass juice or powder, along with chlorella, spirulina, or wild blue-green
algae have in many cases proven to be useful in jump-starting up a sluggish liver.
  • Garlic and onions: Garlic contains allicin, which is a sulfur-based compound needed by the liver for effective
detoxification. Garlic helps the liver rid the body of mercury, certain food additives and hormones.
  • Fresh vegetables: Eat plenty of fresh, lightly cooked, or raw vegetables, especially dark green, leafy vegetables such
as parsley, kale, watercress, alfalfa sprouted and collard greens. Orange, yellow, purple, and red-colored fruits and vegetables are also good, as they contain living enzymes, fiber, vitamin C, natural antibiotics and cancer-fighting phytonutrients.
  • High-antioxidant fruits: Blueberries, blackberries, strawberries and raspberries are all high in antioxidants, which help to protect the liver from the high levels of free radicals that are naturally produced during the process of
    detoxification.
  • Bitter foods: The bitterness of foods such as dandelion, arugula, endive, radicchio, sorrel and watercress helps to
stimulate bile flow within the liver.
  • Herbs: Dill, caraway seeds, garlic, onions, boldo, turmeric and cayenne are easy to use in your food and can help
    protect the liver.
  • Dandelion root tea: This simple tea enhances the entire digestive track and it is particularly effective at relieving
digestion after a high-fat meal. Dandelion is also an excellent herb for weight loss, as the leaves are a diuretic and the root improves fat metabolism.
  • Omega-3 fatty acids: Good sources of these important fats are ground flaxseed, flaxseed oil, walnuts, borage oil,
krill oil, chia seeds, purslane, acai, algae, hemp seeds, grape seed oil. Water: Drink 8 to 12 cups of pure water each day. Water helps the kidneys get rid of the toxins that the liver has broken down.
  • Nuts, seeds, avocados: These are good food sources of polyunsaturated fats and monounsaturated fats, all less
harmful to the liver than saturated fats.
  • Hot water and lemon juice: This easy and healthy tonic works wonders for sweeping the bad stuff out your liver.

Liver Tonic Tea

Liver
When spring comes it is time for a liver cleanse. This is a good time to rejuvenate the liver for the coming year of work. One good way to cleanse the liver is to use herbal teas.

Here is a herbal formulation for the liver provided by Brigitte Mars (herbalist in Colorado) called liver loving tea” which consist of:

Dandelion roots (1 part)
Fennel Seed (1 part)
Licorice Root (1/4 part)
Burdock root (1/4 part),
Peppermint (1 part).

You can make these teas yourself or look for a ready made one at a
health food store. I
mix one full tablespoon of each herb into a mason jar. Shake it up and
its ready to go.

Preparing the tea

Boil 1 1/4 cup of
water in a glass container. Add 1 heaping tablespoon of
herbal mixture. Let tea sit for 10-15 minutes. Strain and drink when it
cools down a little.

Drink one cup of tea before breakfast and one before dinner for about 1-2 months.

Renewing: Starting Over: New Beginnings

Lang_newbeginningsSo you want to make some changes, eh? Call it what you will: new beginnings, starting over, renewing, rejuvenation…

it’s time to take charge of your future and finally have the body you’ve been longing for.

You want a strong, healthy body; one that will do what you want it to, when you want it to. If you’re tired all the time, or you get sick all the time, or you just don’t have the energy level that you wish you did, it’s time to make some changes.

Changes usually start with diet and exercise. Yes, I know, it’s a boring subject for many, because they don’t want to change their eating or exercise habits (if you
exercise at all, that is).

However, did you know that a poor diet could lead to faster aging processes, illnesses and many disease processes? Did you know that you can shave five to ten years off your looks just by eating right, getting rid of built-up toxins and eating more natural
fruits and vegetables?

And you won’t have to spend thousands of dollars for that face-lift, or that boob job or butt lift, either. READ MORE

Your Liver is Begging for a Cleanse

Grapefruit
The first thing is to listen, because your liver, throughout the regeneration process, sends out signals when all is not well.

Indigestion, constipation, moodiness, depression, impaired concentration, poor memory, and foggy brain -
these are all signals that point to a sluggish liver. Even conditions
such as hay fever, hives, skin rashes and asthma are signs that action
is needed. Then there is hypoglycemiaunstable blood sugar levels – and dizziness and light headaches. These are also symptoms your liver could be in trouble.

Like the colon, the liver is begging for a cleanse. But don't worry, it's easy to do.

First,
start your morning with freshly squeezed lemon in hot water. This helps
to cleanse the liver and promote detoxification. It also stimulates
bile production, cleanses the stomach and stimulates bowel motion.

Here's a recipe for an amazing drink for the liver that I highly recommend:
A.M. Liver Cleanse

  • 1 large grapefruit
  • 2 lemons
  • 1 cup of filtered water
  • 1 tablespoon of cold-pressed flax oil
  • 1 inch of fresh ginger root
  • Dash of cayenne pepper (optional)

Chronic Constipation

To understand why chronic constipation is so unhealthy, you first
need to understand what’s going on in your guts – and your colon.
Here’s my “Constipation for Dummies” explanation:

Toxins are formed and absorbed when waste remains in the intestines.
Waste should be eliminated through the bowels on a regular basis – a
healthy colon eliminates waste in 6-18 hours. But the colon can’t do
its job properly if you haven’t given your body the diet it needs to
keep it in tip-top shape. The colon is a natural breeding ground for
bacteria, which is a good thing, because these bacteria neutralize and
prevent a toxic condition from developing in the colon. The problem is,
there are two types of bacteria: the good kind – the healthy,
scavenging variety – and the bad guys – the disease-producing kind. In
a clean, healthy environment, the healthy, scavenging bacteria will
control the bad bacteria. But they can’t do that when your colon is all
plugged up.

And that’s why eating food that is easy to digest will keep your
colon in good working order, which will keep you regular. Not to
mention healthier – and happier!

High-sugar, low-fibre diets that feature refined flour, rice and
pasta are exactly what you want to stay away from to avoid chronic
constipation. These diets are a recipe for sluggish peristaltic
muscles. And you need a smooth rhythmic contraction of muscles to
propel the contents of your stomach through the digestive tract.

Here are some diet recommendations that can keep constipation away: Read More

Deadly toxin in the Body

Toxins Here’s a small insert of the part about toxicity that Raymond Francis talked about last month: Teleclass

Identifying toxicity as a major cause of overweight is in itself a breakthrough
We’re all in toxic overload. That’s the bad news. Here is the good news – 80% of that toxic load that you’re exposed to is under your personal control. So anybody can learn how to take personal control and reduce their toxic load by 80%. That’s exactly what I’ve done in my life and that’s why I’m getting younger, and that’s why I’m so healthy, because I’ve reduced my toxic load. Anybody can learn how to do this.

So that’s number one – learn where the toxins are and stop exposing yourself to them. It’s simple things like toothpaste and shampoo that will poison you. So use healthy toothpaste, use healthy shampoo, and make simple choices.
Get the toxins out of your life. In Never Be Sick Again, there’s a whole chapter on toxins as to where they are and how to avoid them. So stop putting them in your body. I mean, that makes sense, right? Stop exposing yourself to them.

The next thing you need to do is detoxify. The body is able to detoxify things. It has a very good detoxification system, but for every molecule you present to the body’s detoxification system, it requires many molecules to detoxify that one. So where do the many molecules come from? From your diet. READ MORE

Your liver could be in trouble

Liver
If you suffer from indigestion, constipation, moodiness, depression, cravings, poor memory, and hormonal imbalance, menopausal symptoms weight gain and always feeling angry.

Here’s what you can do about it!

Remember, unlike the stomach for example, the liver rarely tells you directly when it’s upset or if it needs your attention. It does tell you indirectly, though and you’ll notice, when it starts to function or perform poorly.

How will you know it’s functioning poorly~ For starters, your skin will look older then it should be, you’ll see more blemishes, more pimples, more marks, and more rashes than normal.
