How To Make Herbal Infusion

Here’s one recipe from Susun Weed~ susunweed.com I’ve been doing for some time now:

Nettle Herbal Infusion
Herbal Infusion are different from simple herb teas. A hundred fold different. They have a hundred times the minerals, a hundred times the vitamins, says Susan.

To make an infusion you take a clean one liter bottle, put in an ounce (28 grams) of dried herb (to start with we are going to use nettles), add boiling water right to the top. Close the jar and leave it stand for at least four hours, or over night. This is an infusion. Susan says that infusions are the elixir of life.

Stinging Nettle: builds energy, strengthens the adrenals, and is said to restore youthful flexibility to blood vessels. A cup of nettle infusion contains 500 milligrams of calcium plus generous amounts of bone-building magnesium, potassium, silicon, boron, and zinc. It is also an excellent source of vitamins A, D, E, and K. For flexible bones, a healthy heart, thick hair, beautiful skin, and lots of energy.

Herbal Tea for Women: Herbal Remedies for PMS

Healing Most of us women can attest to feeling the effects of our cycling emotions. Rather than reaching for a glass of wine or a decadent (and heavy) piece of chocolate cake, ease your swirling emotions by brewing up a pot of this uplifting and aromatic tea. It’s easy to make and it’s caffeine and calorie-free so it won’t load you down like a rich dessert or glass of alcohol. The recipe is compliments of Brigitte Mars from her book Sex, Love & Health.
All of the ingredients can be bought at your local health food store. I recommend buying them in bulk to ensure freshness and to save money.

  • 4 cups water
  • 1-2 tsp of burdock root
  • 1-2 tsp of dandelion root
  • 1 tsp of dried basil
  • 1 tsp of fennel seed
  • 1 tsp of nettle leaf

Bring the water to a boil. Add the burdock and dandelion root, cover and simmer for twenty minutes. Remove from heat and add the remaining herbs. Cover and let steep for 10 minutes. Strain. Drink 4 cups every day.

How to Eliminate toxins from Caffeine and Coffee

Hot-CoffeeSlowly reduce your intake of caffeinated beverages. Replace those beverages with herbal teas or coffee substitutes such as Teeccino, Pero, or Roma Bands. If you must dink coffee, use only organic varieties to help reduce the number of pesticides, fertilizers, and other contaminants from commercial coffee growing techniques.

  • Drink plenty of water with raw organic Apple cider vinegar to help renew your body and provide your more energy, You may even find you don’t need that ” boost” from caffeinated products anymore!
Clean your colon weekly to prevent irritation and excess acid in the bowel caused by regular coffee consumption.
  • Use natural unbleached filters in drip coffee makers to reduce your exposure to bleaching agents.
  • If you dink decaffeinated coffee, be aware that most of the major brands use chemicals to decaffeinated their product even when they claim to be “naturally decaffeinated.”
  • If your children are addicted to caffeine, please help them quit now! Otherwise, they may deal with this drug addiction for the rest of their lives.
