I had the privilege of talking with Dr. Edward Group about the toxins in our environment and how they impact our health.</p>
<p>Having studied natural healing methods for over 20 years, he shared with us how we can begin to identify and then eliminate toxins from our home and diet.</p>
<p><span id="more-15847"></span>The root cause of so many health conditions today is that we have too many toxins coming into the body and not enough toxins going out.</p>
<p>And it’s not just one toxin that causes disease.</p>
<p>It’s the combination and accumulation of many different toxins we’re exposed to in our air, water, and food.  </p>
<p>It all begins indoors, whether at home or work, which is where North Americans spend 90% of our time.</p>
<p>If your home and office environments are toxic, you will be too.</p>
<p>Toxins can be generated by off-gassing from paint on walls, cleaning chemicals, carpets, drapes, furniture and clothing, as well as pet dander, dust mites, and mold/mildew.</p>
<p>We breathe these toxic substances in and expose our body and nervous system to their effects.</p>
<p>Since we take 30,000 breaths each day, this is one of the first things Dr. Group recommends cleaning up. And it’s surprisingly affordable!</p>
<p>Water is another dangerous source of toxins. Everything living is made up of at least 80% water.</p>
<p>This means if the water is contaminated and you’ve been exposed to it, you’re contaminated too.</p>
<p>Tap water today contains fluoride, chlorine, arsenic, lead, bacteria and viruses, parasites, and prescription drug residue, as well as electromagnetic radiation.</p>
<p>Unfortunately, these things are not filtered out through municipal water systems, and this results in what is essentially hazardous waste coming out of our taps.</p>
<p>The good news is that through education we can identify the harmful substances we’re exposed to and begin to gradually but steadily reduce our exposure by replacing those substances with affordable natural, organic alternatives.</p>
<p>Start in the bedroom where you sleep, gradually eliminating and/or replacing things that are toxic.</p>
<p>Since 95% of toxins enter through the intestinal tract, it’s extremely important to get those toxins out as fast as they come in.</p>
<p>You clean your kitchen right after you cook.</p>
<p>Think about what it would look like after three days if you if left all of your stuff out and didn’t clean up.</p>
<p>Dr. Group addressed this important subject of cleansing with recommendations and cleansing protocols.</p>

<p>This Pizza has been a huge hit this summer at our place! I used <strong>Organic Sprouted Whole Grain Tortillas for the crust</strong>, so no more thick, gluey crust that makes you feel bloated!</p>
<p><span id="more-14697"></span>So easy to prepare.</p>
<p><strong>Ingredients:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Ezekiel 4:9</strong> : Organic sprouted whole grain tortillas</li>
<li><strong>Pesto sauce</strong></li>
<li><strong>Cheese</strong>: Organic Meadow Mozzarella, Swiss or cheddar shredded * raw cheese is good as well</li>
<li><strong>Veggies:</strong> zucchini, carrots, peppers, onion, mushrooms, asparagus, finely chopped Swiss chard</li>
<li><strong>Fresh herbs of your choice</strong> &#8211; basil, oregano, parsley, and chives</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Pesto Sauce:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>2 cups basil leaves (stems removed), tightly packed</li>
<li>1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil</li>
<li>1 teaspoon crushed garlic (2 cloves)</li>
<li>1/2 teaspoon sea salt</li>
<li>1/4 raw pine nuts</li>
</ul>
<p>Place the basil, olive oil, garlic, and salt in a food processor fitted with the S blade and process until the basil is chopped. Add the pine nuts and process until smooth. Stop occasionally to scrape down the sides of the bowl with a rubber spatula. Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator. Pesto will keep for five days.</p>
<p><strong>Preparing the Pizzas</strong><br />Place 4 tortillas on the counter, spread evenly with pesto sauce</p>

<p>Add veggies and top with your favorite herbs</p>

<p>*No need for Pepperoni or Italian sausage! You’ll love it just like this!</p>
<p>Preheat the oven to 450°F for at least 30 minutes</p>
<p>Bake pizza one at a time until the crust is browned and the cheese is golden, about 10-15 minutes. If you want, toward the end of the cooking time you can sprinkle on a little more cheese.</p>

<p>Food additives are to blame for a lot of inflammatory responses in the body. During my interview with Dr Gloria, <strong>One of the questions </strong>I asked her, was about <strong>Carrageenan</strong>: <strong>Food Additive &amp; Aircraft De-icer!</strong></p>
<p><span id="more-14384"></span></p>
<p>Inflammation is thought to be the underlying cause of diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, lupus, myocarditis, asthma, kidney failure, Alzheimer’s disease, autoimmune disease, fibromyalgia and other types of soft tissue inflammatory disorders, and much much more.</p>
<p><strong>Gloria Gilbère: </strong> Let’s talk about that. I’m actually giving a lecture at one of our local health food stores here in Washington State. They asked me specifically after I had lectured at another one of the stores to mention carrageenan and help people with that. Carrageenan is an ingredient that in its natural state is seaweed. It’s perfectly healthy in its natural state.</p>
<p>What happens when it goes from the Latin term, meaning ‘<strong>chondrus crispus’</strong>? You might see a toothpaste, for instance. I just went into a store and started scouting out what products had it. They use it as a thickening agent. It’s a very inexpensive thickener.</p>
<p>If you pick up a toothpaste jar and it says <strong>‘chondrus chrispus’,</strong> which is the Latin term for it, and then in parentheses it says ‘carrageenan’, you’re okay.</p>
<p><strong>When they give you the Latin term</strong>, that means it’s the actual seaweed. They’re only giving you the interpretation so you understand what it is. It’s especially in yogurt and milk alternatives, like almond milk, soy milk, hemp milk, or any of those.</p>
<p><strong>They use carrageenan as a thickener.</strong> Guess what? Your audience needs to understand something.</p>
<p><strong>Do you know when you’re on an airplane in the winter and they say, “We can’t take off until we de-ice the airplane”?</strong></p>
<p>The men in the big hazmat suits who are completely covered come up this great big ladder that looks like a fire truck, and they spray the airplane to defrost it. <br />They de-ice the airplane. That’s the same type of chemical that they use for the <strong>manmade or chemical composition of carrageenan.</strong></p>
<p>If a drop of that happens to hit your skin, it will burn the skin right off of you.</p>
<p><strong>Can you imagine what we’re doing to our intestinal tract?</strong> The reason they can put it in and get away with it is they say it’s a small amount. If I may, I’d like to give an example of a patient of mine up in Idaho, a young boy at the age of eight.</p>
<p>It’s very important for your audience to hear this. There was a young boy whose parents brought him in because they’d taken him to gastrointestinal specialists, every pediatrician and specialty that you can imagine.</p>
<p>This little boy would eat and double over in pain. He got to the point where he didn’t want to eat because it hurt so badly. <strong>On top of that, he had severe constipation.</strong></p>
<p>They kept believing it was the constipation that was giving the stomachaches, not what he was eating. The doctors told him, “Go off of wheat,” “Go off of dairy,” and “Go off of gluten,” which they did.</p>
<p>The mother had always known that  for children was not healthy unless it was, in my opinion, goat milk, which is the healthiest milk on earth. She started buying rice milk and yogurts for the little boy.</p>
<p><strong>They all had carrageenan</strong>. When the little boy was in my office, here’s what I said to him. I’m going to name him Tommy, although that’s not his name. “Tommy, describe to Dr. Gloria what you feel like.”</p>
<p>He said, “As soon as I eat it’s about five or 10 minutes and I’m doubled over in pain.” They had to start homeschooling him. They couldn’t even send him to school because he was in so much pain.</p>
<p>I didn’t want to say anything in front of the child. I said to the mother, “Let’s have your husband take him out so I can give you some dietary hints. He doesn’t need to hear this. He’ll be bored.” I said, <strong>“What are you feeding him?</strong>” She started telling me, and I said, “I want you to go home, and I want you to call me back and tell me what things he eats every day on a regular basis.</p>
<p><strong>I want you to read the label and tell me how many of them have carrageenan.”</strong></p>
<p>Every single one of them had it: <strong>low-fat cottage cheese</strong>, <strong>yogurts,</strong> all of the <strong>milk alternatives</strong> that they were giving him. <strong>Even his toothpaste</strong> had <strong>carrageenan</strong>. I asked her to look. I said, “I want you to take everything away from him and buy him some hemp milk that does not have carrageenan.” There are several good brands at the health shops that do not have it.</p>
<p>I said, “Give him just <strong>hemp milk</strong> and none of these <strong>cottage cheeses</strong> or <strong>yogurts</strong> for now, and let’s see what happens.” <strong>Within eight days, this little boy’s stomachaches went away, and he stopped having the constipation.</strong></p>
<p>It irritates the skin to the point where it will peel it right off your body, which is why the men spraying the airplane wear the hazmat suits, so that none of their body is exposed in case the wind is blowing and that stuff gets on them.</p>
<p>We’re putting it in our body. It’s literally eroding our plumbing, and we don’t even know what it’s doing to the stomach, for instance. We know that it’s horrible on the GI tract. <strong>Just remember that it is a chemical that is capable of peeling the skin right off of your body.</strong></p>
<p>Carrageenan is very important. I had a terrible time finding milk alternatives that didn’t have carrageenan.</p>
<p>I think as more and more people become educated and we start demanding that manufacturers don’t use that and that they use the actual seaweed if that’s what they’re going to use, that’s the only way we’re going to make a change.</p>
<p><strong>I went through this health food store and looked at all the toothpastes. There are two big brands that everybody knows—I don’t want to mention names—that are all-natural toothpastes.</strong></p>
<p>They all say ‘<strong>chondrus crispus’</strong> and in parentheses, <strong>‘carrageenan’.</strong> I’ve called the companies. <strong>They’re actually using the seaweed, not the refined chemical composition of that seaweed, which is now known as carrageenan.</strong></p>
<p>I’m warning all of you. If you have any products in your house with <strong>carrageenan, get rid of them</strong>. <strong>If you’re a pregnant woman, do not consume them, because we still don’t know what they can do to the developing fetus.  </strong></p>

<p><strong>How dangerous are these chemicals? Here are a few things they’re responsible for:</strong></p>
<p><strong><span id="more-13021"></span></strong>Last week I interviewed Dr. Gloria Gilbère, a busy and accomplished woman who uses her background as a doctor of natural health and an investigative health journalist to educate people everywhere on the dangers of food additives. And let me tell you, she was on a mission in this interview!</p>
<p><strong>How dangerous are these chemicals? Here are a few things they’re responsible for:</strong></p>
<p>•	Cause weight gain and affect the ability to lose it<br />
•	As neurotoxins, they stimulate brain cells to death<br />
•	Change brain biochemistry forever<br />
•	Induce inflammation<br />
•	Lower IQ<br />
•	Cause generalized multiple allergic responses<br />
•	Are responsible for most headaches, especially migraines</p>
<p>And the two biggest culprits? Artificial sweeteners and monosodium glutamate (MSG). MSG? Yes!</p>
<p>There are hidden sources of MSG in the foods we buy. Dr. Gloria shared how to recognize the aliases for MSG on food labels and explained how, even in small amounts, MSG can cause GI distress, migraines, hyperactivity, aggressive behavior, and sleeplessness.</p>
<p>There has been a sharp rise in these conditions, even in our young children. Why? Because they are exposed to them while their bodies and immune systems are still developing.</p>
<p>The potential damage these chemicals do is frightening. What we need is an action plan, and Dr. Gloria’s motto,<br />
<strong>“Health through Education,</strong>” was apparent as she walked us through some practical steps to minimize exposure and<br />
maximize improvement.</p>

<p>Dr. Martini is the founder of Mission Possible World Health International. This is an organization committed to removing the deadly chemical, aspartame.</p>
<p><span id="more-11006"></span></p>
<p><strong>One question I asked her was: </strong>What is the worst that aspartame can do?</p>
<p><strong>Here’s what Dr Martini said:</strong> There’s an athlete alert written by neurosurgeon Dr. Russell Blaylock and one written by Dr. H.J. Roberts as far as dropping dead on it.</p>
<p>If you think of the worst things that can happen to people, you think of aspartame. Look how it destroys the family. First of all, it causes male sexual dysfunction and ruins female response.</p>
<p>The woman or even the man can cause birth defects in their own child if they’re using aspartame at the time of conception.</p>
<p>If the woman is drinking it, she can’t get pregnant to begin with because it’s an endocrine-disruption drug.</p>
<p>It stimulates prolactin and causes infertility. Then she gets off of it and gets pregnant, and then she gets back on it. It’s an abortifacient.</p>
<p>Many people lose their babies before they know they’re pregnant.</p>
<p><strong>Then it’s a teratogen and causes birth defects</strong> and mental retardation. I think I sent you the autism chart that showed autism going straight up with the approval of aspartame. You see how serious it is.</p>
<p>Then what about the relationship of a man and a woman? You have 50% phenylalanine, which is an isolate. It’s a neurotoxin. It floods the brain, lowers the seizure threshold, and depletes serotonin.</p>
<p><strong>People suffering from depleted serotonin </strong>suffer suicidal tendencies, manic depression, paranoia, schizophrenia, panic attacks, insomnia, and other things. Then it interacts with all antidepressants.</p>
<p>This is what they do to families. Of course, when the whole molecule breaks down to diketopiperazine, that&#8217;s a brain-tumor agent. When you think of the worst things, the Ramazzini Study has shown that it’s a multi-potential carcinogen.</p>
<p>All you need is just a little bit of aspartame to cause cancer. He has shown it causes lymphoma, leukemia, and kidney cancer. In original studies, it caused so many different types of tumors: adenocarcinoma and brain, testicular, pancreatic, thyroid, mammary, and uterine tumors.</p>
<p>You’re talking about a very poisonous product.</p>
<p><strong>It’s in 10,000 products.</strong> It’s hidden in products like over-the-counter drugs. Look what it is doing to children.</p>
<p>Most of the pediatric vitamins that you find in the stores have aspartame in them.</p>
<p>What if you take your child to a pediatrician, the pediatrician says, “We need to give you pediatric penicillin.” He’s going to prescribe Augmentin, and it has aspartame in it. These companies have been notified.</p>
<p>In fact, there was a child on “Hard Copy,” and she was given one Flintstones vitamin. She was declared dead and then revived at the ER. She’s in another one of the movies since <strong>“Sweet Misery: A Poisoned World.” </strong></p>
<p>She has <strong>brain damage from using them.</strong> It’s a very serious problem. It’s not like years ago when there weren’t as many of these chemicals on the label.</p>
<p>As Dr. Roberts says, if you see a label full of things you can’t pronounce, don’t put it in your mouth. Get off of processed foods because so many of them interact.</p>
<p>For instance, in Liverpool they did a study and showed the interaction of <strong>aspartame, MSG, blue and red dyes,</strong> and all the other junk they put in. When I was lecturing in the UK, they had something called &#8216;Bubbly&#8217;. In fact, I brought it home. It’s a blue liquid.</p>
<p><strong>You watched toddlers using this thing</strong>. In the UK, they’re not supposed to make artificial products for children under three years of age, but they don’t enforce it.</p>
<p><strong>On the label were aspartame, saccharin, citric acid, acesulfame potassium</strong>, and all these different poisons as far as sweeteners are concerned. I kept looking for what the food was. Was it mixed with juice? It was nothing.</p>
<p>It was just the poisonous artificial sweeteners plus citric acid.</p>
<p>Then they wonder why the kids can’t think and are ADD and ADHD. In fact, the Feingold people in the second film said that before aspartame was approved, they didn’t even use the terms ADD and ADHD.</p>
<p>I will say that what I had done was I had the doctors and experts write reports on how it destroys the brains of our children.</p>

When it comes to eating beef, I strongly recommend that you consume only “organic” and “grass-fed” beef. It makes a world of difference to your body because beef that you purchase in the grocery stores, even corn-fed beef, is filled with antibiotics and growth hormones.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong><img class="alignleft" style="margin: 0px 5px 5px 0px;" src="http://www.healthlady.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/6a00d8341c5f0053ef010535f02699970b-320wi.jpg" alt="Avocado 2" width="192" height="149" />Here are a few things you can do if your skin is dry in the winter time.</strong></p>
<p>For a period of time you can reduce the fats in your diet if you have been eating too much processed and cooked fats. Too much fat can overload the liver, causing the skin to become very dry.</p>
<p>Eliminating or reducing the fats for 1-2 weeks gives the liver some rest and allows it to cleanse.</p>
<p>Interestingly enough, if you do not have enough fats, the same thing can occur &#8211; the skin can become too dry. Make sure you eat raw fats 4-6 times per week.</p>
<p>This can be in the form of low-temperature pressed oils (2-3 tbsp. 1-2x daily) from olives, flax, hemp and pumpkin seeds, avocados, olives (10-12 olives 3-4x week), coconut, raw nuts and seeds (1-3 tbsp. 4-5x week).</p>
<p><strong>Avocado Caraway Dressing:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>1 avocado</li>
<li>3 tablespoons lemon juice</li>
<li>3 tablespoons ginger juice</li>
<li>2 tablespoons caraway</li>
<li>1/4 teaspoon black pepper</li>
</ul>
<p>dash to 1/4 teaspoon Himalayan or Celtic Salt dash cayenne 1 cup kalamata olive water or blessed water with a dash of Celtic or Himalayan salt.  Blend all ingredients together in high-powered blender. Serve 1-2.</p>

Let me tell you, I can’t get enough. I think I&#8217;ve purchased every gardening book available, so it&#8217;s a work in progress.</p>
<p>Here’s some pictures of my results. My salad never tasted so good. The sunflower sprouts are doing amazing in the green house, and all the vegetables are ready! I&#8217;ll start a new crop in a few weeks.</p>
<p>What you see is chard, kale, mustard green, sorrel, mixed lettuce for salad, tomatoes and cucumber. They&#8217;re all coming along great &#8211; lots of herbs &#8211; you name it, it’s there.</p>
<p>My juice and salads never tasted so good, especially when the ingredients are fresh from the garden, without chemical additives!</p>

<p>~After being inside the body for 20 minutes, Aspartame begins breaking down from its original compound into methanol, formaldehyde (a Class-A carcinogen used to embalm corpses) and formic acid (ant venom).</p>
<p>~Over 70% of the world&#8217;s coffee supply is contaminated with toxic pesticides and chemicals. It&#8217;s estimated that just one cup of coffee contains more than 2,000 chemicals, many of which are gastrointestinal irritants and cancer-causing agents.
