Where does it come from? Sources include <strong>sugar,</strong> <strong>white flour</strong>, and <strong>processed oils</strong>, which make up a significant portion of the average North American diet and cause biochemical chaos in the body. In fact, the wheat-consuming nations of the world have the most inflammatory disease.</p>
<p><span id="more-10282"></span>If we’re overweight, fat cells produce inflammatory chemicals, adding to the overload, and the result is massive amounts of inflammation occurring in our bodies. These pro-inflammatory chemicals, when released, damage our tissues, glands, and everything else.</p>
<p>Raymond Francis is an internationally recognized leader in the field of optimal-health maintenance who has proposed a remarkable concept of health along with a simple program for achieving it that begins by teaching the basics of good health.</p>
<p>He believes health is an individual responsibility, our duty to ourselves. But we’re simply not living up to it. Why? First of all, because nobody ever told us it is a duty; and secondly, nobody ever told us how to do it. But <strong>health is a choice</strong>, and Raymond’s passion is to help people choose it.</p>
<p>One of the questions I asked him was:</p>
<p><strong>What were the results of his latest research since our last interview?</strong> Here’s what he said:</p>
<p><strong>Inflammation is the foundation stone </strong>of virtually every chronic disease.</p>
<p>It certainly is a foundation stone of cancer. Inflammation drives cancer. Without inflammation cancer would not exist. Here’s what I’ve been finding. You say inflammation is important. Then you ask the question, “How do you get inflammation? Where does inflammation come from?”</p>
<p>You start looking at the sugar, white flour, and processed oils that we eat. These are all sources of inflammation.</p>
<p><strong>Then we’re overweight,</strong> and that’s a source of inflammation. <strong>Fat cells produce inflammatory chemicals.</strong> Still, we have massive amounts of inflammation going on. You keep asking yourself, “Where is this coming from?” I’m starting to find out where it’s coming from.</p>
<p>I’ll share this with your audience. I haven’t completed all my research on this yet, but I’ll share the conclusions I’ve reached so far.</p>
<p><strong>Our consumption of wheat is a major source of inflammation</strong>. I have simply stopped eating wheat. I eat no wheat whatsoever. In fact, I eat very few grains now. I strongly recommend that people stop eating wheat, and here’s why.</p>
<p>What we’ve done over the years is we have hybridized wheat to continually get higher and higher amounts of protein in the wheat.</p>
<p><strong>We now have wheat with very high amounts of protein, much higher than 2,000 years ago</strong>. There’s a component of this protein, which is actually one of the proteins; it’s a glycoprotein, which is a protein and a sugar molecule together.</p>
<p>This is a class of compounds called <strong>lectins. Lectins </strong>are in the wheat to protect the wheat from attack by bacteria, viruses, and fungi.</p>
<p>It does a marvelous job of protecting the wheat from infection. It does this by damaging the cell walls of the <strong>bacteria and the fungi</strong> and destroying them. Here’s something that is in there to protect the wheat from attack.</p>
<p><strong>Unfortunately, human beings have the same receptor sites </strong>on the cells as the fungi and bacteria have. That means that because we have the same receptor sites, the lectins are also going to damage our cells.</p>
<p><strong>Historically,</strong> when we were eating wheat 2,000 years ago, it had lectins in it but we had adapted to the amount of lectins.</p>
<p>Now what we’ve done, especially over the last couple hundred years, is we’ve hybridized the wheat to where it has very large amounts of lectins in it now. We have high-protein wheat with large amounts of lectins.</p>
<p>We’re now getting exposed to a tremendous amount of lectins.</p>
<p><strong>Guess what?</strong> Lectins, even in very small quantities, are capable of producing pro-inflammatory chemicals in the body. I really think that this is where a lot of our inflammation is coming from. Even at exceedingly low concentrations, lectins will stimulate this production of pro-inflammatory chemicals.</p>
<p>Once you do this, the pro-inflammatory chemicals go out and damage all your tissues, glands, and everything else.</p>
<p>The problem is that we’re producing a lot of inflammation here. Geographically, when you look at the wheat-consuming nations, the countries that consume the most wheat have the most problems with inflammatory diseases.</p>
<p><strong>I’m looking at this thing and asking, </strong>“Where’s the inflammation coming from?” I’m looking at the fact that the lectins produce information, and I&#8217;m then looking at the fact that wheat-consuming nations have the most inflammatory disease.</p>
<p>It’s starting to form a picture for me. You asked the question of what I’m doing and what my new research is. This is one of the things I’ve come up with recently.</p>
<p><strong>I’m beginning to believe </strong>that this is really very profound stuff here. I have gotten off of all wheat totally and completely, and I’m now advising everybody not to eat any wheat.</p>
<p>It may in fact be a very bad choice. Again, it doesn’t take much. What we’re finding in the research is that exceedingly small concentrations of lectins can stimulate the production of inflammatory chemicals in the body.</p>
<p><strong>That muffin for breakfast </strong>may be enough to stimulate a lot of inflammation. Then there’s another problem here. Lectins are highly stable molecules, so they’re very resistant to the degradation through a wide variety of pH ranges and a wide variety of temperatures.</p>
<p><strong>They survive cooking, sprouting, fermenting, and digesting.</strong> They’re very stable molecules, and they’re also highly resistant to breaking down in the body. They actually bio-accumulate in the body and become incorporated into the tissues where they begin to interfere with your normal biological processes.</p>
<p>I tell you, the more I look at the lectins the scarier they become.</p>

<p><span id="more-13957"></span></p>
<p><strong>Here’s what she said: </strong></p>
<p><strong>Rosemary Gladstar: </strong>I think we have to be committed. Our very lifestyle, as you’re hinting, is partly because of the problem that people are so stressed out. Stress is considered the number-one underlying problem of all health diseases. I think that statement is practically true. There are teas and wonderful herbs. There’s a group of herbs called the adaptogenic herbs.</p>
<p>These herbs actually restore and rebuild energy, <strong>especially depleted energy.</strong> They’re very good for the adrenal system and the endocrine system. They help to support the systems.</p>
<p>If <strong>somebody is very addicted to drinking a strong, black tea or coffee every morning</strong>, it will take more than just substituting these herbs for that. For one thing, these herbs don’t have caffeine in them.</p>
<p>They’re not going to give that ‘buzz’ feeling.</p>
<p>Over a period of time—and I don’t mean a long time, it’s usually within seven or eight days—people will start to notice that instead of feeling an irritated energy, they’ll feel grounded and calm.</p>
<p>When we’re calm, we have so <strong>much more energy</strong>. In our culture, whenever you’re in a city or on a highway, you see things speed up. It’s almost like the energy is buzzing. It is, because everybody’s buzzing on caffeine or sugar.</p>
<p>It agitates the system. I use this analogy: Imagine everybody going to work in the morning, and they have had peppermint or chamomile and a good night’s rest. If people get stuck in a traffic jam, they’re waving and smiling at each other.</p>
<p>However, on coffee, everybody is honking and frowning at each other. They add the agitation. Plants and herbs like coffee, guarana and black tea are all great substances.</p>
<p>However, when we use them abusively or too often, or use them in ways they’re not meant to be used, they can be an irritant to the system. The biggest group of herbs that I look at to restore depleted energy are the adaptogenic herbs.</p>
<p>The term simply means that it’s a substance that helps your body adapt to modern-day stresses. The herbs categorized as such are quite common to people.</p>
<p>They are herbs like <strong>ginseng</strong>, <strong>rhodiola</strong>, <strong>nettle</strong>, <strong>dandelion</strong>, <strong>ashwagandha</strong>, and <strong>astragalus</strong>. All around the world there are herbs that are used as adaptogenes. They help people restore and rebuild depleted energy. Of course, I also look at using calming herbs.</p>
<p>People think it’s very counter-indicative when they’re looking at something that will lift them up and give them energy, to think about drinking an herb like chamomile or linden or passionflower.</p>
<p>People think, “I don’t want to calm down and go to sleep.” However, those herbs don’t work that way. I use this image: they embrace you. They make you feel calm. They hold you.</p>
<p>When we’re calm and centered we have unbelievable amounts of energy, don’t we? When we’re agitated and irritated it looks like we have energy, but we just spin in circles and agitate everything around us.</p>
<p>The adaptogenics and the nervine herbs are very common herbs. Those are the two groups that I usually suggest to focus on.</p>

<p>The first thing I’m going to ask you to do is to think about clearing yourself in preparation for more energy.</p>
<p><strong>The first thing we need to do is clear the clutter.</strong> There are many types of clutter, but I’ll talk about two of them: the physical and also emotional clutter. One of the interviews I did a few months ago was with Sue Rasmussen, who’s a master certified coach.</p>
<p>She talked about how your outer environment is a reflection of what’s going on inside of you.</p>
<p><strong>When things are cluttered, messy, stressful, and overwhelming </strong>in your physical space, you’ll have a corresponding level of overwhelm and stress inside that keeps you from living and being your best.</p>
<p>Most people have no idea of the far-reaching negative effect clutter has in every area of their lives.</p>
<p>She mentioned that basically <strong>everything in our environment is a reflection or mirror of what’s going on inside of us.</strong></p>
<p><strong>As we look around our home and we are relaxed, peaceful, and quiet, that’s happening inside as well.</strong> If we look around and feel stressed, overwhelmed, and chaotic, that’s what’s happening inside as well.</p>
<p>Organizing your home and decluttering, believe it or not, can have a huge impact on your energy and health.</p>
<p>People come to my place for the weekend or day, and here’s what they tell me: “I am so comfortable. I sleep well.</p>
<p><strong>I feel energized.”</strong> This is not just because of the food. It’s because of the energy we create around our living space. You can do the same at home. I’ll give you an example. <strong>The kitchen is an example. </strong></p>
<p>Look around your kitchen.<strong> Is it clean and organized?</strong> Look inside your fridge. Is it inviting and colorful? Does it smell good? Is it organized? All of this has a huge impact on your energy!</p>
<p><strong># 2 Take  Care Of Your Skin: </strong></p>
<p>One solution is to <strong>stop using chemicals on your body</strong>. Go chemical-free. There are so many natural products on the market today.</p>
<p>You can also start eating <strong>dark green leafy vegetables.</strong> They are excellent foods to help you cleanse and purify the skin. People ask me what is my magic formula for great skin.</p>
<p>I show them the picture of my garden in which you can see a lot of dark green leafy vegetables.</p>
<p><strong>Drink and eat your dark green leafy vegetables this summer. </strong>An inexpensive way to take care of your skin is to use a skin brush. Skin brushing is a way to detoxify the skin and promote good circulation.</p>
<p>Interestingly, <strong>uric acid crystals</strong> and other acids are more easily eliminated when the top layer—the dead layer—of skin has been removed.</p>
<p>Brushing the <strong>skin allows the pores to stay open so the metabolic waste can be released</strong>. What the skin brushing will do, ladies, is prevent wrinkles by tightening the skin.</p>
<p><strong>It’s amazing to relieve muscle tension and stress. </strong>It will also help to break down cellulite, believe it or not. If you hydrate your body properly, exercise, have a good diet, and use your dry brush, within 30 to 45 days you should be able to see some amazing improvement in your cellulite.</p>
<p><strong>Here’s a good one: skin brushing stimulates all the acupuncture meridians and promotes energy flow to organs and glands.</strong> This is all from a simple dry brush.</p>
<p>It also improves <strong>digestion and bowels</strong>. Go to your health food store this week or weekend, or you can order online, and get a dry brush. They’re not expensive. You don’t have to spend a lot of money. It’s $12 to $15 for a good quality dry brush. Just look for a natural vegetable fiber</p>
<p><strong># 3 Take Care Of Your Colon</strong></p>
<p>Nobody likes to talk about constipation, but the longer you remain <strong>constipated the more you’re poisoning your body</strong>. The fact is that the stuff that needs to come out is trapped inside your body and you’re poisoning yourself.</p>
<p><strong>No wonder you feel so bad. No wonder you can’t lose weight.</strong> I still ask my clients today how many bowel movements they usually have every day.</p>
<p>Seven or eight out of 10 will tell me they have two or three bowel movements a week. That is very sad. For anyone who’s listening out there, no one on this planet should allow himself or herself to be constipated.</p>
<p>I did an interview with Dr. Edward Group. He’s the founder of Global Healing Center, and he is actually considered to be one of the colon experts out there.</p>
<p><strong>Here’s what he shared in the interviews.</strong> If you don’t eliminate daily, first the protein turns putrefactic, then the carbohydrates ferment, and then the fats turn rancid and actually turn into carcinogens and toxins. These can burn tiny holes through the intestinal lining, leak into your bloodstream, and cause serious damage.</p>
<p>Think about your daily habits. What do you do first thing in the morning? If you’re like many people, you have a cup of coffee. The bottom line is that you need to be drinking water in the morning, not coffee. Let me explain what happens when you drink coffee.</p>
<p>Drinking a caffeinated beverage can dehydrate your body and interfere with digestion.</p>
<p><strong>Caffeine also interferes with the absorption of magnesium, </strong>which is critical to maintaining regular and healthy bowel movements. Coffee also over-stimulates the digestive system and can induce a temporary laxative effect.</p>
<p>That’s why when people drink coffee they have a bowel movement. What happens is that the coffee causes you to have a bowel movement and release the waste before it has had the chance to process and utilize vital water and nutrients.</p>
<p>Thus, when you drink coffee first thing in the morning, you’re flushing everything—the vital water and nutrients your body needs. First thing in the morning, you go into your reserves that you need to be able to function throughout the day.</p>
<p><strong>If  you have IBS, acid reflux, stomach ulcers, diarrhea, Crohn’s disease, high blood pressure, difficulty sleeping, anxiety or colitis</strong>, I think it would be a good idea to eliminate or at least reduce coffee.</p>
<p>There are so many amazing substitutes if you like your cup of coffee. This is not about eliminating everything, including your comfort drink or food, all at once.</p>
<p>However, if you really like a cup of coffee and can’t give it up altogether, it’s a good idea to drink it in mid or late afternoon, believe it or not, instead of in the morning as a wake-up call.</p>
<p>Remember what it does. <strong>First thing in the morning, it’s going to flush everything out of your body</strong>. First thing in the morning, we need to hydrate the body.</p>
<p><strong>Coffee is not the ideal way to accomplish this.</strong> When you drink your coffee in the afternoon, it’s not going to interfere with your adrenal glands, stress, and sleep if you drink it before 4:00 in the afternoon. What you can do this summer is herbal infusion.</p>
<p>Herbs have become such a part of my lifestyle. My husband and I live at the cottage here in Bancroft, Ontario. We are surrounded by the most amazing herbs.</p>
<p>Every year I discover something new. I have several herbs in my collection, and one of my favorite herbs now, which I’ve been using for some time. I started doing my own nettle herbal infusion, and it’s very powerful. A nettle herbal infusion is very different than just an herbal tea.</p>
<p>They are excellent for extracting the maximum amount of medicinal potential from an herb. That’s what I’m drinking right now. Nettle is extremely high in minerals and is amazing for constipation.</p>
<p>A cup of nettle tea first thing in the morning will get you going in the bowel department. Nettle is detoxifying, improves the ability of the liver and kidneys to cleanse the blood, and also perks up the appetite.</p>
<p><strong>Drink nettle tea; </strong>it’s amazing for the body. It doesn’t take a lot of time to do, but if you don’t want to take the time to do the nettle infusion, just drink nettle tea.</p>
<p>It’s a very gentle diuretic, which is considered restorative for the kidneys and bladder. It’s also recommended for weight loss. If you want to drink the ideal tea, you can make iced tea out of nettle, and you can add some stevia in your nettle tea.</p>
<p>It’s wonderful; it’s an amazing drink. That’s your iced tea for the summer. It also stabilizes blood sugar. It’s good for allergies and amazing for healthy hair, skin, and nails.</p>
<p>To purchase nettle tea, go to your local health food store or order online. First thing in the morning condition yourself to drink more fluids and add some good quality green powder, which I’m going to talk about next.</p>
<p>First thing in the morning, hydrate your body. I’m not saying not to have coffee, but drink your coffee later in the day. Hydrate your body in the morning until breakfast. <strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong># 4  Take  Good Quality Green Powder</strong></p>
<p><strong>The green powder is like a multivitamin</strong>. Not only that, but it will help to alkalize and energize the cells in your body and accelerate the cleansing process. The drink may taste strange to start with, but as your bloodstream’s pH level drops, your taste buds adjust to the flavor, believe me. <strong>Any good quality greens will support your liver, kidneys, blood, bones, colon, circulation, and immune function.</strong></p>
<p>Adding greens will neutralize many toxins in your body and will also help any cravings and increase your energy level, as well.</p>
<p><strong># 5 Take Good Care Of  Your Liver </strong></p>
<p><strong>It’s very difficult to lose weight if your liver and gallbladder are failing.</strong> Your liver is an amazing organ. The stomach is responsible for breaking down and processing fats but, in truth, the gallbladder and liver are the primary organs.</p>
<p>Both organs have so much input into the entire cycle. The liver is the most important organ in the human immune system. It actually removes harmful chemicals.</p>
<p>There are so many different chemicals and biological contaminants in our environment, and the liver is the first line of defense against illness and disease. <strong>Over 500 chemical and metabolic functions take place in the liver.</strong></p>
<p><strong>The liver is a power player because it filters these contaminants from the bloodstream</strong>. Unfortunately, some of the impurities removed from the bloodstream are stored in the liver itself. We’ve been exposed to 180,000 chemicals in the last 30 years, and these contaminants build up in the liver and interfere with the ability to filter toxins properly.</p>
<p>This will weaken the liver and allow these contaminants to escape into the bloodstream, where they are stored in other organs of the body down to the cellular level. That’s another reason you can’t lose weight, feel tired, have allergies, and may experience hormonal imbalance.</p>
<p><strong>What you can do to help your liver</strong> is to reduce your consumption of food with artificial chemicals, artificial ingredients, and artificial coloring, and artificial preservatives. Every artificial substance that you bring into your body will have a direct impact on your liver.</p>
<p><strong>Take the time to read labels and find alternatives. </strong>At least 80% of the food you currently eat could be replaced by food items that are free of artificial substances. If I were to recommend one particular food to cleanse and rebuild the body, it would be greens.  Greens control the calcium in the body. They’re high in iron and potassium.</p>
<p><strong>The bitterer they are the more potassium they contain.</strong> Greens are one of the finest things known for neutralizing acid in the body. If you’ve been following me for some time, you know I love to talk about green juice.</p>
<p><strong>—greens are the most cleansing food on the planet.</strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong> You should also increase your water intake to at least a half-gallon of pure water a day. This is so crucial for the liver. This becomes even more important if you diet, fast, or exercise. This is because the fat-soluble toxins that were stored in your fat cells are going to be released back into your bloodstream.</p>
<p>Now your liver will have to process these fat-soluble toxins and convert them into water-soluble products that your body can eliminate through bowel function and urine. If you’re dehydrated, you will slow down this process.  75% of people in North America have mild chronic dehydration.</p>
<p>The other thing to watch is your alcohol consumption. Not only does it affect your driving, but for some who are particularly sensitive, one ounce of alcohol can produce damage to the liver</p>
<p>Be careful with alcohol consumption. <strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong># 6  Add Coconut oil To Your  Diet: </strong></p>
<p>I interviewed Bruce Fife. He’s the author of 17 books, and one of the books he wrote is <em>The Coconut Oil Miracle</em>. Coconut oil has had a bad reputation for a number of years.</p>
<p>Since the 1980s, saturated fats have been scrutinized because they tend to raise cholesterol levels and contribute to heart disease.</p>
<p>Coconut oil does have a high amount of saturated fat, but it’s a good fat that the body responds to and processes very differently than the fats in meat and dairy.</p>
<p>This makes it a superior and safer alternative to the hydrogenated vegetable oils that make our diets and foods so unhealthy and that are linked to premature aging, as well.</p>
<p><strong>During the call I asked him about the connection between coconut oil and weight loss.</strong> He said when he wrote <em>The Coconut Oil Miracle</em> book, after it was published he started getting calls and emails from people who said they added coconut oil to their diet and lost 10 to 40 pounds. I’ll explain how it all works. The other thing you can do during the middle of the day—let’s say 2:00 to 3:00 PM—if you’re feeling tired—try this tomorrow if you have coconut oil at home—or sleep, take a teaspoon of coconut oil.</p>
<p>It will boost your energy; it’s amazing. That’s one of coconut oil’s benefits. It’s very different from other oils because when you eat the other oils, the body puts them into what are called lipoproteins, which circulate in the body.</p>
<p>If they’re not used immediately for energy they’re usually packed into storage as body fat. Coconut oil, however, is a medium-chain fatty acid and doesn’t do that.</p>
<p><strong>Coconut oil goes straight to the liver</strong>. The liver looks at it and says, “This is a great source of fuel,” and uses it as a source of fuel like a carbohydrate, and starts burning them. During this process it gives us a boost of energy.</p>
<p>In fact, it gives us such a boost of energy that it keeps our metabolism up a higher notch so our metabolism is actually running at a faster rate.</p>
<p>Because of this feature of the medium-chain fatty acid, it’s been investigated as a means of weight management and treating obesity.</p>
<p>There was a study in which they used medium-chain fatty acids, and after a meal they found that in normal-weight individuals, their metabolism after a meal containing medium-chain fatty acids increased by 48%. In an obese individual, when they ate the same meal their metabolism increased by 65%.</p>
<p>The more overweight a person was, the more effective the medium-chain fatty acid was in boosting their metabolism, and the greater the effect it had in helping them lose excess weight.</p>
<p>Another study showed that even after a single meal containing medium-chain fatty acids, metabolism would rise and remain elevated for a full 24 hours. If you incorporate coconut oil into your diet, you would burn off more calories, so there would be fewer calories at the end of the day to be converted to body fat.</p>
<p>Now, Ditch your potato chips this summer and replace them with air popcorn.  Add coconut oil to your popcorn. Melt coconut oil and add it on your popcorn. Season with Celtic salt or seasoned salt. You can even add some garlic powder. It is absolutely amazing, and your guests will love it.</p>
<p><strong># 7  Avoid, at all costs, sugar.</strong> What happens when you eat white processed sugar? The sugar makes your blood more acidic, which in turn makes the blood more vulnerable to viruses and bacteria.</p>
<p>Sugar dulls the brain, damages organ function, strips the body of calcium, taps mineral reserves, causes depression and obesity and, sure enough, it will contribute to hormonal imbalances like PMS and mood swings.</p>
<p><strong>White flour has the same effect, as well. It has no life force</strong>. The number-one solution is not willpower, believe me. I’ve tried that, and it doesn’t work. Actually, it works for two days, and then you give in.</p>
<p>The best approach is to start cleansing your body to remove all those toxins out of your body. In my personal experience and with my clients, I’ve seen amazing results within five to six days if you follow a cleansing program.</p>
<p><strong>Cleansing your body is the number-one thing to stop your cravings.</strong> When you cleanse your body and then start to add nutrients back into your body, you start to mineralize the body and rebuild the reserves.</p>
<p>There’s a beautiful quote from Harvey Diamond, the author of <em>Fit for Life</em>: “<strong>We eat approximately 70 tons of food in our lifetime. The quality of that food will be the greatest determining factor of the quality of our lives.”</strong></p>
<p>Eating good quality food every single day makes a huge difference in how you feel in your energy, sleep, skin, and digestion. My hope is that these ideas and suggestions will make a difference in your life.</p>

<p>Last week during my interview with Bruce Fife, author of &#8220;<strong>The Coconut Oil Miracle,&#8221;</strong> we talked about how coconut oil has suffered from a bad reputation for a number of years.</p>

<p><strong>One of the questions I asked him was: Can you tell us about the connection between coconut oil and weight loss?</strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p>Here’s what he said:<strong> Bruce Fife: </strong> It’s very helpful. I wrote <em>The Coconut Oil Miracle</em> book, and I do have a chapter in there that talks about the metabolic effects and how it stimulates the metabolism.</p>
<p>After it was published, I started getting calls and emails from people who were saying, “I started adding coconut oil to my diet, and <strong>I lost 10, 20, 30 or 40 pounds</strong>.”</p>
<p>I received so many testimonials of people who had lost weight using this that I thought.</p>
<p><strong>During the middle of the day if I’m feeling tired,</strong> down, or sleepy, I’ll go in and take a spoonful of coconut oil. It does boost your energy.</p>
<p>That is one of the benefits with coconut oil and one of the things that’s very different from other oils, because when you eat other oils what happens is the body puts them into what are called lipoproteins, and they circulate in the body.</p>

<p>Researchers at McGill University in Canada stated that if an overweight person replaced all of the oils in their diet that are made with long-chain fatty acids with an oil that was composed of medium-chain fatty acids, they could lose up to 36 pounds a year without changing the diet or going on a diet, eating the same foods, just changing the oils.</p>

One in particular that I was so fascinated about was the one I did with <strong>Jean Haner, author of  The Wisdom of Your Face: </strong></p>
<p><strong>Chinese face Reading:</strong> A Face Says It All!</p>
<p><span id="more-11636"></span></p>
<p>Most people have never heard of Chinese face reading.</p>
<p>If they have, they think it’s some kind of party trick or, even worse, some new way to manipulate people. It’s actually a branch of Chinese medicine.</p>
<p>It developed and evolved as Chinese medicine did over thousands of years.</p>
<p>It initially started out as a way to diagnose illness. They noticed, as they were observing and diagnosing, that there were certain patterns of features and other information on the face that correlated to certain illnesses.</p>
<p>They also suddenly realized as they continued their work, that these same patterns were predictive of certain personality types, certain ways to think and feel and behave.</p>
<p>Actually, Chinese face readers were the very first therapists and coaches. People would go to them for  advice and guidance about how to live their lives. Now this very ancient skill is coming back to life in this new age.</p>
<p>One of most popular cosmetic procedures out there these days is to Botox away your wrinkles and I ask Jean what she thought about this:</p>
<p><strong>Here’s what she said:</strong> Yes! I’m on a campaign to make women feel better about their wrinkles, and men too.<br />
There are actually certain wrinkles you’re supposed to get. It’s not a good sign if you don’t get them.</p>
<p>It can actually be indicative of emotional and health problems, and your life going wrong.</p>
<p>I’m having more and more people come to me as they’re considering getting cosmetic surgery, just to find out what the implications are, which I’m very happy about.</p>
<p>They’ve done some very interesting studies recently about Botox. They found that when we first look at someone, whether it’s in person or even a photograph, for a brief instant our faces mimic their facial expression.</p>
<p>They found in brain scans that as that happens, our brains actually move into empathy with them. We start to feel the same emotions that they’re feeling.</p>
<p>They did a study where they tested people who had Botox and another group who didn’t have Botox.</p>
<p>They found that the people who had Botox, their faces were frozen.</p>
<p>They couldn’t mimic the facial expression of the person they were viewing, and their brain also did not generate any feelings or emotions.</p>
<p>Their conclusion was that this person will actually feel a disconnect. There will be less empathy. There will be a weaker connection within relationships and a weaker ability to have healthy relationships because they’ve frozen their faces.</p>
<p>Aside from the meaning of what they’re freezing and why they’re doing it, there are meanings to every wrinkle on your face.<br />
The shape of your features and the size of your features actually can be very beneficial to know in terms of understanding why you are the way that you are, and how to be that more successfully.</p>

<p>Dr. Martini is the founder of Mission Possible World Health International. This is an organization committed to removing the deadly chemical, aspartame.</p>
<p><span id="more-11006"></span></p>
<p><strong>One question I asked her was: </strong>What is the worst that aspartame can do?</p>
<p><strong>Here’s what Dr Martini said:</strong> There’s an athlete alert written by neurosurgeon Dr. Russell Blaylock and one written by Dr. H.J. Roberts as far as dropping dead on it.</p>
<p>If you think of the worst things that can happen to people, you think of aspartame. Look how it destroys the family. First of all, it causes male sexual dysfunction and ruins female response.</p>
<p>The woman or even the man can cause birth defects in their own child if they’re using aspartame at the time of conception.</p>
<p>If the woman is drinking it, she can’t get pregnant to begin with because it’s an endocrine-disruption drug.</p>
<p>It stimulates prolactin and causes infertility. Then she gets off of it and gets pregnant, and then she gets back on it. It’s an abortifacient.</p>
<p>Many people lose their babies before they know they’re pregnant.</p>
<p><strong>Then it’s a teratogen and causes birth defects</strong> and mental retardation. I think I sent you the autism chart that showed autism going straight up with the approval of aspartame. You see how serious it is.</p>
<p>Then what about the relationship of a man and a woman? You have 50% phenylalanine, which is an isolate. It’s a neurotoxin. It floods the brain, lowers the seizure threshold, and depletes serotonin.</p>
<p><strong>People suffering from depleted serotonin </strong>suffer suicidal tendencies, manic depression, paranoia, schizophrenia, panic attacks, insomnia, and other things. Then it interacts with all antidepressants.</p>
<p>This is what they do to families. Of course, when the whole molecule breaks down to diketopiperazine, that&#8217;s a brain-tumor agent. When you think of the worst things, the Ramazzini Study has shown that it’s a multi-potential carcinogen.</p>
<p>All you need is just a little bit of aspartame to cause cancer. He has shown it causes lymphoma, leukemia, and kidney cancer. In original studies, it caused so many different types of tumors: adenocarcinoma and brain, testicular, pancreatic, thyroid, mammary, and uterine tumors.</p>
<p>You’re talking about a very poisonous product.</p>
<p><strong>It’s in 10,000 products.</strong> It’s hidden in products like over-the-counter drugs. Look what it is doing to children.</p>
<p>Most of the pediatric vitamins that you find in the stores have aspartame in them.</p>
<p>What if you take your child to a pediatrician, the pediatrician says, “We need to give you pediatric penicillin.” He’s going to prescribe Augmentin, and it has aspartame in it. These companies have been notified.</p>
<p>In fact, there was a child on “Hard Copy,” and she was given one Flintstones vitamin. She was declared dead and then revived at the ER. She’s in another one of the movies since <strong>“Sweet Misery: A Poisoned World.” </strong></p>
<p>She has <strong>brain damage from using them.</strong> It’s a very serious problem. It’s not like years ago when there weren’t as many of these chemicals on the label.</p>
<p>As Dr. Roberts says, if you see a label full of things you can’t pronounce, don’t put it in your mouth. Get off of processed foods because so many of them interact.</p>
<p>For instance, in Liverpool they did a study and showed the interaction of <strong>aspartame, MSG, blue and red dyes,</strong> and all the other junk they put in. When I was lecturing in the UK, they had something called &#8216;Bubbly&#8217;. In fact, I brought it home. It’s a blue liquid.</p>
<p><strong>You watched toddlers using this thing</strong>. In the UK, they’re not supposed to make artificial products for children under three years of age, but they don’t enforce it.</p>
<p><strong>On the label were aspartame, saccharin, citric acid, acesulfame potassium</strong>, and all these different poisons as far as sweeteners are concerned. I kept looking for what the food was. Was it mixed with juice? It was nothing.</p>
<p>It was just the poisonous artificial sweeteners plus citric acid.</p>
<p>Then they wonder why the kids can’t think and are ADD and ADHD. In fact, the Feingold people in the second film said that before aspartame was approved, they didn’t even use the terms ADD and ADHD.</p>
<p>I will say that what I had done was I had the doctors and experts write reports on how it destroys the brains of our children.</p>

<p>This is one of the reasons <strong>one-third to one-half of all adults</strong> have digestive illnesses &#8211; more t<strong>han 63 million people</strong> have been diagnosed with some type of digestive disorder.   Scary when you think about it.</p>
<p><span id="more-10843"></span></p>
<p>A few weeks ago, I interviewed Liz Lipski, Ph.D., board-certified in clinical nutrition and holistic nutrition.</p>
<p>She&#8217;s the author of Digestive Wellness and Digestive Wellness for Children.<strong> Here&#8217;s what she talked about:</strong></p>
<p>Two-thirds of our immune system is centered around the digestive system, which explains why it&#8217;s called the second brain.</p>
<p>Most of us don’t even think about our digestive system because it usually works pretty well most of the time. It’s kind of like how you don’t think about your knee unless it’s hurt. We don’t really think about our digestive system. It’s the most amazing part of our body. The reason we eat food is in order to get nutrients to our cells.</p>
<p>If that gets blocked in any way, our cells don’t work right and we don’t feel well. What’s fascinating to me is that every day we’re taking in pounds of food, and our body has to decide whether that food is<strong> friendly</strong> or<strong> not friendly.</strong> <strong>Every time we eat, we activate our immune system,</strong> which is mostly in our digestive system because that’s the place where we get the biggest contact with our external world by taking in food.</p>
<p>Whether we’re having a soft drink, an apple, a fast-food meal, or carrot juice, our body is going to get different messages that it sends to the immune system and our genes. Right now, the U.S. government is working on a big project called the Human Microbiome Project. It’s one of the other fascinating areas.</p>
<p>In our belly, we have about <strong>three-and-a-half pounds of microorganisms. </strong>We have bacteria and fungi.</p>
<p>Some of us have parasites. For the most part, they all live there in this big community. It’s kind of like the <strong>rainforest of our own body </strong>where we have all these different communities working together.</p>
<p>When it’s not working right, we start having health issues. First of all, we have <strong>10 times more of these bacteria and fungi </strong>than we have cells in our body. They comprise <strong>99% of the DNA t</strong>hat we have in our body.</p>
<p>The genes in these bacteria and fungi are always talking to our human genes and kind of running our metabolism and our immune systems. They’re running the show.</p>
<p>If that wasn’t enough going on in the digestive system, it’s also called the <strong>second brain</strong>. It’s called the second brain for two reasons. <strong>One is that if you cut the vagal nerve that goes from the brain to the digestive system, everything would run just fine in the digestive system. </strong></p>
<p>They’ve done this to people who have had horrible pain. They’ll sometimes just snip this. They don’t do it anymore, but they used to in earlier times. It can run all by itself, so it’s called the second brain for that reason.</p>
<p>The other reason is that all of the neurotransmitters that we make in the brain, we make in much larger quantities in our digestive system.</p>
<p>For example, we all probably know about serotonin that’s used in the brain. It helps us feel calm and not depressed, which is why we use drugs like Prozac and other SSRI antidepressants.</p>
<p>Ninety percent of the serotonin is actually made in the digestive system. It’s made there to help regulate functions in the digestive system, like how often we have bowel movements. The digestive system to me is such a fascinating system because if it’s not working right then nothing else really works optimally either.</p>

<p><span id="more-10791"></span></p>
<p><strong>Today we’re under more stress than ever before</strong>.</p>
<p>For example, there are things most people aren’t aware of. They experience them, but they’re not aware that many other people are going through this. When it comes to women in the workplace, the average stress response for women is twice as high as men.</p>
<p>“Why is that?” The reason for that is that the <strong>stress center in the brain is different in men and women.</strong> A person&#8217;s stress level is measured by cortisol levels in the body.</p>
<p>It will cause cortisol levels to go higher and higher. That causes exhaustion, <strong>mood disturbance</strong>, <strong>lack of motivation</strong>, and <strong>depression.</strong> It certainly causes a <strong>weakness in the immune system, </strong>which is the foundation of <strong>why people get cancer.</strong></p>
<p>For some people it will cause <strong>high blood pressure</strong>, which then gives rise to heart disease and heart attacks. <strong>Almost 90%</strong> of what we call <strong>chronic illnesses </strong>today are directly linked to elevated cortisol levels during our lives or adrenal burnout, which means that we’ve been so elevated in the emergency mode for so long that the adrenal gland just stops making the hormones in abundance.</p>
<p>Then what we have is <strong>hormonal imbalances.</strong> What I did is I looked at why these gender differences are there between men and women. <strong>Women’s cortisol levels are twice as high as men’s</strong> during the workday, and at night women’s cortisol levels double again relative to a man’s.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s interesting to note that just 15 years ago, we don’t have data on where women’s cortisol levels were, but we do have data on their happiness levels.</p>
<p><strong>T</strong><strong>heir happiness level is often correlated to cortisol,</strong> meaning if you’re stressed you’re not as happy. Universities show that women who used to report an average of being happier than men are <strong>now less happy than men</strong>. That would correlate with this huge rise in cortisol levels. People asked me why, so I looked for more research.</p>
<p>The research shows that the <strong>fight-or-flight center</strong> in the brain in a man is twice as big, and it tends to become activated when problems are really big.</p>
<p><strong>For women, it gets activated when problems are small</strong>. Naturally, it’s going to be more activated during the day. If there’s a sense of urgency and emergency, women tend to notice more problems and worry more.</p>
<p><strong>Then in the wiring of the brain</strong>—they can see how the wiring is—when women have an alarm system go off in their brain, which goes off more often than in a man, the second thing is it’s wired up to the limbic system, which is the emotional part of the brain.</p>
<p><strong>Simply put, when there’s stress, women have a strong emotional </strong>reaction to it. Then the wiring is also very rich and thick from the emotional part of the brain to the talking part of the brain.</p>
<p>Women have a loop: stress, stronger emotional reaction, and talk about it. When you talk about it, it releases a brain chemical called serotonin that calms the limbic system down.</p>
<p>That helps to explain in my book, Men are From Mars, why women will come home from work, and often they’ll want to talk about what happened. Men are wondering why. Why bring up the problems? Let’s just forget them.</p>
<p><strong>This is how a man copes with stress.</strong> Then you see the brain differences in the amygdala, which is the stress center for the man. When she’s talking about problems, his brain is saying, “Don’t worry about it. It’s not a big deal,” because his brain can do that.</p>
<p>It minimizes problems unless they’re really big. Then there’s a release and a blood flow, but the blood flow for him still doesn’t go to the emotional part of the brain. It goes to the action part of the brain.</p>
<p><strong>As long as he can do something about the problem, then his stress level stays low. </strong>Some men may have higher stress loads because they feel powerless to solve the problems in their life.</p>
<p>Generally a man has a job, there’s a description of what he’s to do, and he has a certain amount of control in what he does. As long as he’s achieving his goals and he doesn’t feel powerless to achieve his goals, his stress levels stay very, very low.</p>
<p>For a woman in that situation, just simply being able to solve the problems in her workplace doesn’t lower her stress.</p>
<p>B<strong>eing able to talk about the problems she experiences during the day actually lowers her stress.</strong> Even if a man is powerless to solve his problems, he has a backup system in his brain, which is called the fight-or-flight.</p>
<p>Fight means that to solve the problem lowers his stress, or the flight is to forget the problem, and that will lower his stress. Men have the ability to shift to another part of their brain and forget the problems that are bothering them.</p>
<p><strong>Plato was the one who first described this ability. </strong>He said there are two halves to the brain. He said that when you’re handling serious problems, you’re on the left side of the brain.</p>
<p>You have to let that part of the brain relax; otherwise, it becomes overly stressed. The way you do that is you go to the right side of the brain and do some kind of what he called frivolous activity, but what we call today golfing or watching TV.</p>

<p><strong>Sea Weed Bath: </strong>You’ll need:</p>

<p><strong>2 oz of kelp, wakame or dulse,</strong> which are readily available at most natural foods stores a bathtub full of comfortably warm water  <strong>Add seaweeds </strong>while the tub is filling, allowing them to soak for 10 minutes to expand fully before stepping into the tub.</p>
<p><strong>Dried seaweeds </strong>expand when added to water, and 2 ounces will fill your tub with floating seaweeds — you’ll feel like you’re swimming in the ocean!</p>
<p><strong>Seaweed baths</strong> are nature’s perfect <strong>body/psych balancer</strong>. remember how good you feel after an ocean walk? Seaweeds purify and balance the ocean — they can do the same for your body, too. A hot seaweed bath is like a steam sauna — only better — because the sea greens balance your body chemistry instead of dehydrating you.</p>
