How Do Toxins Build Up

Every Cell of the body has parts that help to remove toxicity, but certain organs specialize in waste management.

When they don’t do their job, toxins get stuck in the organs and cause trouble for the cells. Cells under stress tend to work less efficiently.

Large intestine or colon: 5 am to 7 am:  is the time for this organ. A healthy colon needs water to do its job properly, which is flushing waste matter 24/7. The morning is the most important time to drink plenty of water for this process, and the worst time to have caffeine.

Caffeine is a diuretic that takes water away from your colon and dumps it into your kidneys and bladder for evacuation. Your body needs water in the morning to do its repair and maintenance of the large intestine and colon.

This keeps you from getting constipated, gaining weight, and looking and feeling older. When you irrigate your system every morning with pure water (up to 32 oz), your health improves. If you wait until you have a bowel movement before you eat in the morning, it’s also healthier for your colon.

Lungs: The lungs are the first organs of the day up for repair and maintenance. The toxic waste from your lungs is loosened between 3 am and 5 am – which is why you sometimes cough when you awaken in the morning. Your lungs are trying to expel the loose waste.

If you are coughing in the morning, this indicates that your diet and lifestyle need tweaking.

Lymph: the lymph glands transport waste from the cells to the major organ where it is eliminated: The major lymphatic glands are the appendix, spleen, thymus, and tonsils; they usually swell during detoxification.

Drink plenty of pure and nourishing fluids and get regular exercise and massage to help dilute and transport the toxins through the body.

Kidneys and bladder: From 5 pm to 7 pm you may notice you’re tired and want a nap. When the kidneys are healthy and working properly, you’ll feel energetic, not tired, during this time.

The kidneys regulate the pancreas, and if you do consume sweets during this period, you may notice lower back pain, which is a kidney symptom.

Liver and gallbladder: Between 11 pm and 3 am, these two guys go into action. Do you ever have nights when you can’t sleep during this time? This means that waste is not being processed by your liver and it acts as an irritant to your body, causing insomnia and frayed nerves. This is the recycling center of the body.

Skin: with the largest surface area, the skin acts as a back up for the other elimination organs: The skin eliminates over one pound of waste acids each day in the average adult, most of it through the sweat glands. Drinking plenty of pure and nourishing fluids, dry-skin brushing, and massage encourage the skin to breath, perspire, and release toxins; this may result in skin rashes, acne, etc

Wouldn’t You like to be in control of what and how you eat, instead of just reacting to your cravings on an emotional level? Your cravings are adding toxins to your body.

Linda, Many parts of the body helps in the process of toxin cleansing. Gastrointestinal and vascular surgeon Leonard Smith of Gainesville, Florida recites a roster of organs that have to perform their jobs well for the body to effectively cleanse the body of toxins. “The lungs, the kidneys, the bladder, the small and large intestines, colon, liver and gall bladder—all of these organs work together to eliminate toxins. When they don’t do their job, toxins get stuck in the organs and cause trouble for the cells.

Thanks for your reply, very helpful, I have another question.

    1. What is the difference between phytochemicals, phytonutrients and antioxidants.

    or are they the same?

    Thanks

    Linda

    Linda,

Phyto” comes from the Greek word “phuton” meaning “plants” hence the chemical/nutrient found in plants are called phytochemical or phytonutrient.  The terms are used interchangeably but “phytonutrient” is increasingly becoming more popular for the positive association with “nutrient” rather than “chemical”.

Antioxidant – Most phytochemicals have antioxidant activity and protect our cells against oxidative damage.
Phytochemicals with antioxidant activity: allyl sulfides (onions, leeks, garlic), carotenoids (fruits, carrots), flavonoids (fruits, vegetables), polyphenols (tea, grapes).

This information is very interesting! I usually drink only water, first thing in the morning. My body has benefited greatly since I stopped the coffee habit. My next change should be not eating until I’ve had a bowel movement…
    Thank you, Nancy!
