Within the last couple of generations, we have markedly changed the way that we consume foods and, at this point, we are setting ourselves up for a great many serious, long term Problems.
The nutrients we need are removed from processed foods — basically anything that comes in a box, can or jar.
In place of these essential substances, we add preservatives, artificial flavors and colors — or toxins, which make our bodies work extremely hard to try and detoxify, and even worse, Those Toxic Chemicals in Food That are Causing us to Gain Weight
Some of the other elements added to our foods that are causing us to gain weight are dangerous trans fats, high fructose corn syrup and neurotoxins such as aspartame.
Chemicals proliferate in our food system as we try and maintain a more functional distribution and production system. Just think of all those pesticides, fungicides, larvacides and insecticides that find their way into our bodies.
Our foods are low in nutrients, but high in calories and chemicals. Through regularly consuming an average diet, you’ll invariably feel drained, pack on weight and be lethargic.
Trying to lose weight is such a problem for people everywhere these days, and here’s one of the major mistakes that I see people making:
If you believe that everything is fine in moderation, then you’re completely mistaken. Everything is not fine and you must be selective, very selective in what you eat.
It’s so incredibly difficult to believe that at one time all our foods were completely organic. They weren’t treated with chemical agents, irradiated or subjected to additional hormones or fertilizers.
The foods we eat now are very different compared to what our grandparents were eating. the simple fact of It all: if your body is using its resources to push out toxins, it’s not doing what it was meant to . . . generating a vibrant and vital force which keeps you slim, energetic and looking years younger than your actual age.

Nancy,
When I changed my diet to a raw living food diet, I began to understand what is meant by “You are what you eat”.
Have been feeling much better ever since. I see the impact of what I eat on how I feel.
Great article.
Merci.

Thank you “healthy lady” for your good advice that are easy to understand, bur it is the “following the advice” that is usually difficult on my side of the ocean.
You always have something enlightening to say in your writings.
