This week I shared the Morning Meal! So, here’s my favorite one: JUICING
Yes, those smoothies are excellent for your breakfast, and they are much better than breakfast cereal that contains 50% sugar, but let’s talk now about juicing.
You know, I can’t stress enough how keeping your menu to liquids in the morning is an excellent way to aid your body’s natural repair cycles.
Green juices are fantastic for the morning! Because our bodies are usually far too acidic, green juices give us a balancing, settling way to help flush out all of the bad things while imparting the good ones.
Along with many of my clients, I like to start the day with a cleansing green drink because of all the alkaline minerals found in leafy greens. When you wake up, you have literally been fasting for 8-10 hours, so it’s a good idea to flush out your system with high water-content fruits, a green smoothie, or a green juice.
Over the last few weeks, I’ve had many requests for information about how to start juicing! What are the best juicers? Which vegetables should I start with? And things like that…
Well, let’s start with the equipment! The best juicer is the one hidden in the basement or the cupboard…the one you open once in a blue moon!
If you don’t already have a juicer at home, I highly recommend this one: Green Power Kempo Juicer Model. I won’t go into much detail about its performance; you can check it out. All I can say is my Green Star juicer, which I had for seven years, is somehow equivalent to the Green Power Kempo! It works wonderfully. I’ll let you be the judge of this one. Juicing vegetables will help you meet your five-a-day – or more – serving requirement in a highly efficient manner. At the same time, juicing will allow your body to absorb all the nutrients you need from your vegetables. Think of juicing as the process of “pre-digesting” your food for you.
And that’s a good thing, since most of us have a dysfunctional digestive system from years of bad diet. As a result, our system
“passes” most of the nutrients as waste. Which is really a waste of good nutrients! With juicing, the process optimizes your body’s ability to absorb nutrients. Which means you have more energy right from the get-go, and it’s easy on your digestive system.
Juice Ingredients: You don’t need to measure…just throw everything in the juicer!
- Celery-cucumber-carrots-apple
- Celery-cucumber-kale-apples
- Celery-kale-apple
Start small and simple and, eventually, you’ll venture into all kinds of veggies!
Here’s another good recipe with Super foods:
- 3-4 sticks of celery
- 1-inch cucumber
- 1 apple
- 1 lemon
- 1/2 avocado (optional)
Optional: add one of those super foods
1-teaspoon spirulina Canadian or US
1 tablespoon Sun is Shining Canadian or US
1 scoop of Sun Warrior Protein Canadian or US
Juice
the celery, cucumber, apples, and lemon. Place the flesh of the avocado and one of the super foods into the blender; add the juice and blend until smooth. (This is super good!)
The most important addition to your green drink is a blue-green, and/or green, algae, such as spirulina, chlorella. All of these help to correct blood sugar imbalance as they are rich in minerals and easily absorbable protein.
For you carb cravers, meeting the five a day (or more) requirement is very important. It is recommended that we consume about one pound of raw vegetables per 50 pounds of body weight each and every day. As you don’t want to get bored doing this, you will find that juicing allows you to select from a wider variety of vegetables. Even vegetables that you wouldn’t normally find pleasing to your palate can be added to a juice in order to get some of their unique benefits.
Raw greens are the basics of nature’s medicines as well. When an animal is ill, it nibbles on green grass and weeds, or fasts, depending on its instincts. These animals do not have medications or doctors, but they inherently know what will make them well. READ MORE click here
