En Route for Canada!

Wow! 3 months has passed already, and as much as I loved our visit here in New Mexico, I’m so looking forward to
going back home to my native Canada.

By Sunday, we should be back home. I’m looking forward to organizing and setting up the greenhouse so I can start full production of sprouts and other greens.

Give your body a “Natural High”

Juice
Dandelion Juice – Give your body a “Natural High”

For the past few weeks, I’ve been drinking one-half cup of fresh dandelion juice every morning and another half cup before dinner.

Dandelion can also lower blood pressure, and build stamina. Who doesn’t need more stamina?

Dandelion Leaf is an ancient remedy and is still used today to help remove excess water and toxins from our body. Promoting excretion of bile from the liver enables our body to get back to the business of processing foods and ridding the body of dangerous toxins at the same time.

Efficient bile production and flow gives our body a boost when it comes to metabolizing fat, which in turn helps the body regulate cholesterol levels. Did you know that when you lose weight, acids build up in the body, but dandelion effectively rids the body of these excess acids?

Dandelion Leaf also stimulates functions of the gallbladder, the organ responsible for storing and excreting bile.

Dandelion Leaf has been known to relieve symptoms of premenstrual syndrome, thanks to its diuretic action. Actually, dandelion is beneficial to all living things, even our pets. Loaded with sodium, calcium, iron, beta-carotene and vitamins A and C, it’s one of the most beneficial for major organs and body system functions.

Keep in mind that some people with sensitive digestion might find the juice a tad strong, so if you’re one of those people, just dilute the dandelion juice with carrot juice or water.

Oh, and select dandelion greens from an area that hasn’t been sprayed with herbicides, or better yet, buy organic.

Can Liver Cleansing Help You?

Liver _
The answer is a big YES!

I’ve talked about liver all this month, and can’t stress enough how important it is to really take care of your liver. Here’s one book you might find interesting if you still question whether or not you should do a liver cleanse.
It’s called: The Liver and Gallbladder Miracle Cleanse

I borrowed the book, The Liver and Gallbladder Miracle Cleanse by Andreas Moritz from a friend last year, read it and then went out and bought my own copy.

Since then, I’ve done several liver/gallbladder cleanses using similar but not exact techniques, always successfully, but never this successful! Since I’m not a newcomer to liver cleansing, I do have something to compare it to.

This book is the most comprehensive that I’ve found on the liver flush. Andreas explains in easy to understand and carefully researched terms how our modern day illnesses relate to our ’sick livers’. Our liver has been forgotten in our quest for wellness, and Andreas writes again and again on it being the most important organ in our body, and thus how very important it is to keep it clean. The liver flush is very simple, yet so effective. I believe it’s the answer to many or all of our modern day illnesses.

Relationship Between Desire and Fear

Last week, I interviewed Guy Finley. We talked about “letting go”:

Here’s what Guy Finley said about the relationship between desire and fear:

“There is a difference between need and desire. Say that I desire to have a new car, a bigger house, or a better job. All of these ideas, by which I have a desire to fulfill myself through something outside of me, have their roots in a certain sense of being insufficient, inappropriate, [or] not enough of myself. Therefore, I need some new image that is larger, so that when I get it, I'm as large as that which I have acquired. I desire this in order to free myself of something that I'm not happy about in myself.

The very fact that I now desire this and begin to derive a sense of pleasure even before I get it makes me dependent upon that desire. I must get that or not only will I not become a larger person, but I will actually be sentenced to remain this inferior person that I am. But no one thinks of themselves as being inferior; they think of themselves as needing something superior. But the inferiority and the superiority are linked; they are opposites, and they are part of this divided mind that I'm talking about.

So, this desire always produces fear, because should I not get what I've desired, I will have to "remain" who I imagine myself to be. And if I do get what I desire, I must not ever lose it, or I will be relegated to returning to who I was. We live in this nightmare trap that incidentally, is of our own unconscious making. No one is doing this to us. This is all part of an uninvestigated mind, participating in its own dynamic and the darkness that it produces in its relationship with that.”

I’ll have the replay of this amazing interview available in the Member’s Area soon.

Foods to Eat to Help Your Liver

You can help the liver’s regenerative process by adding these foods and nutrients to your diet:

Rather than indulging in heavy dishes, fried pastries and bottles of wine add some of these nutritious foods to your diet and
give yourself and your liver a true gift.

  • Fresh vegetable juices
  • Chlorophyll-rich foods: Wheat or barley grass juice or powder, along with chlorella, spirulina, or wild blue-green
algae have in many cases proven to be useful in jump-starting up a sluggish liver.
  • Garlic and onions: Garlic contains allicin, which is a sulfur-based compound needed by the liver for effective
detoxification. Garlic helps the liver rid the body of mercury, certain food additives and hormones.
  • Fresh vegetables: Eat plenty of fresh, lightly cooked, or raw vegetables, especially dark green, leafy vegetables such
as parsley, kale, watercress, alfalfa sprouted and collard greens. Orange, yellow, purple, and red-colored fruits and vegetables are also good, as they contain living enzymes, fiber, vitamin C, natural antibiotics and cancer-fighting phytonutrients.
  • High-antioxidant fruits: Blueberries, blackberries, strawberries and raspberries are all high in antioxidants, which help to protect the liver from the high levels of free radicals that are naturally produced during the process of
    detoxification.
  • Bitter foods: The bitterness of foods such as dandelion, arugula, endive, radicchio, sorrel and watercress helps to
stimulate bile flow within the liver.
  • Herbs: Dill, caraway seeds, garlic, onions, boldo, turmeric and cayenne are easy to use in your food and can help
    protect the liver.
  • Dandelion root tea: This simple tea enhances the entire digestive track and it is particularly effective at relieving
digestion after a high-fat meal. Dandelion is also an excellent herb for weight loss, as the leaves are a diuretic and the root improves fat metabolism.
  • Omega-3 fatty acids: Good sources of these important fats are ground flaxseed, flaxseed oil, walnuts, borage oil,
krill oil, chia seeds, purslane, acai, algae, hemp seeds, grape seed oil. Water: Drink 8 to 12 cups of pure water each day. Water helps the kidneys get rid of the toxins that the liver has broken down.
  • Nuts, seeds, avocados: These are good food sources of polyunsaturated fats and monounsaturated fats, all less
harmful to the liver than saturated fats.
  • Hot water and lemon juice: This easy and healthy tonic works wonders for sweeping the bad stuff out your liver.
